There's a good article on the problems affecting hospice care here if it wasn't swamped by ads www.express.co.uk/news/uk/2142...
Fears Rachel Reeves's crippling tax hikes are robbing adults of dignity in death
EXCLUSIVE: Chief Executive Barbara-Anne Walker says without a big Labour Budget U-turn - beds will still close and more adults robbed of dignified care.

A reminder that my Ladybird Artists Advent Calendar starts tomorrow.
🎄
Of course, it may bear a distinct resemblance to my advent last year (and the year before that, and the year before that …)

The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.

I’ve just announced I’ll be leading a National Emergency Briefing on 27 November . At a time when climate is in free fall on the political agenda , it’s vital our leaders realise what is at stake if we do not accelerate a just , green transition for all .

I had a punk party aged 9 where every single present was Adam Ant themed - pillows, pencils and pencil cases, notebooks, records. Every school disco had an Adam Ant dancing contest. What a star.
Also, he was ridiculously beautiful in an era which had a larger-than-average share of beautiful pop stars (even allowing for the Aqua-Net dependent hairstyles)

A nicer side of it getting dark earlier now is that its easier to pay a visit to Theydon Bois, the village on the Central line that doesn't have any street lights.

It's a magical place to visit.

Theydon Bois – the town with no street lights
Theydon Bois, on the edge of northeast London, is remarkable for something very special -- the near total absence of any street lighting.
