One of my friends from the singing class I took was there for this when she was in college and sometimes I can tell who's never hung out with anyone from this part of the world who understood what was at stake.

I am not a "take the dog to the record store" person but when your friend the owner says she should come by sometime, it's the perfect way to spend a Thanksgiving Eve giving her all the pets and watching her run around the aisles sniffing everything.

every time I think about this song I think about how a dispatcher friend got a 911 call from an extremely rich exurb about a kid on the roof yelling death threats and when the cops showed up, it turned out that he was just singing along loudly out of tune to the chorus of this song.
impossible to describe how it felt in the mid-90s when "Possum Kingdom" was on the radio in good rotation, at work trying to mop up the glass/acid spill of a cartload of pickle boxes crashed on the floor while someone screams "Do you wanna die?" from a speaker cut into the drop ceiling.

This is heartbreakingly cruel and hypocritical. The same admin that has redefined refugee status to cover white South Africans is now going to drown thousands of refugees already approved for their status in red tape, potentially even seeking to strip some of their status and deport them.
Trump Admin planning a rule to re-decide whether *every* refugee who entered under Biden meets their criteria for a refugee. That’s 230,000 people! And no appeals!

British edition: my non alcoholic mulled cider recipe for if you’re serving mulled wine, for whoever wants it.
