Barron has yet to say anything about ICE waiting outside place of worship to kidnap families, detaining Christian clergy who had correct documentation , and shooting a wife and a mother in the head. Surely Bishop Robert Barron and @bishoprobberbaron.bsky.social have merged into one.

I just want to know what Hanif Abdurraqib has to say about the Lebron shoes.

I got 18 eggs for $1.75 today but every conversation I've had has been "can we not go to war with half of Europe" and "how do we keep people who pick up groceries at the food pantry safe?"
Despite Trump’s promises, grocery prices are still rising fast. Families can’t afford this… when is he going to get serious about lowering costs?

pretty much every school system has called off because it's in single digits and negative windchill but noooo apparently everything will be Just Fine when we come in at 10am.

I will always think of the kid who dressed up as the "STRONGSVILLE MOMS DISCUSS IT" Facebook group for Halloween and part of his costume was printouts of posts concerned about a store at the mall selling "Netflix and chill" t-shirts.

shoutout to my friend who works for the used CD store who hooked me up with this album today so I can drive around in the winter listening to my favorite fake Thin Lizzy song.

Thinking about this St. Augustine quote again and how he was writing this as a north African in a time of chaotic empire.

this an amazing late 90's time warp video down to the shaky camcorder, the Enya cassette and driving aimlessly around the Cleveland in a 1985 Pontiac Grand Prix.

I didn't have my license but I was a passenger on so many rides like this in my teens.

Only 15 days in and we have a strong contender for most embarrassing headline of the year.

Ben. Shapiro. The guy who can't get his wife wet. The guy who needs an old person to open the pickle jar for him.

Thankful for the Cato folks when arguing with suburban conservatives who don't understand what a bureaucratic nightmarish slog our immigration system is.

If only the party leadership cared that much instead of ignoring their constituents on all this.

Every January when the times are bleak and the seasonal depression is strong, this album's a bit of an antidote and motivator.

I really hate the AI formatted inspirational stories bouncing around Facebook because some of them definitely aren't real and other ones are definitely monetizing real stories but then making them not look real when they are. I hate having to google every single one to find out.

It's gone from "you're going to lose your moral absolutes by attending a postmodern secular state university" to "how dare you still have moral absolutes, what's even true anymore."
This is a useful observation in that it identifies the biggest unifying flip between the 90s left-right divide to today’s. 90s conservatives accused liberals of engaging in moral relativism, but it’s now proudly stated. See next tweet for an illustration

Sorry but we've got way bigger problems in this city that affect day to day quality of life and they aren't folks taking pictures in abandoned buildings.

I'm not sure I would have guessed this was Jim Steinman's house, but I am absolutely not surprised that this was Jim Steinman's house.
Per an email Defector got, apparently Jim Steinman's house is still on the market after his 2021 death, originally at $10 million, now down to either $3 million with all his stuff or $1.5 million without. In viewing the relevant site's photos, there's a lot going on.

This is a pretty easy 2 part solution -

1. Allow legal immigration to be faster and easier

2. Make it affordable to live and people will have kids. I was 25 when my son was born & there’s no chance if I was 25 now I’d consider having kids

Still thankful for that kid at my lunch table who loaned me a Fugazi CD senior year and had no idea they and their general approach to everything would change my life forever.
On January 12, 1991, Fugazi took to the stage in Lafayette Park, right in front of the White House – unthinkable today – to play a relatively short set, thereby expressing her protest against the Gulf War.

I have my own opinions on the whole "lefties vs. wine mom" discourse on here from a time when I felt like we weren't paying attention to bad and perpetuated precedents back in the Obama years but they don't matter as much as doing the good things for your neighbors & community now.

This act of arson was devastating - two torahs were destroyed and the entire library.

Beth Israel is the ONLY synagogue in Jackson.

The synagogue was bombed by the KKK in the 1960s because of its work with the civil rights movement and its fight against racism and segregation.
