Did some blockouts for the next asset pack I've got planned. Even though I've got no immediate plans to use this in a game myself, I can't skip a blockout and in-engine test to check the navigable space is big enough. Already rejigged this a bit after testing.

Did some audio FX programming today as an experiment. Recreated the delay/filter section of the SNES and made some truly obnoxious reverb with it 👂🩸. I imagine one day using this for environmental audio effects like tunnels, rather than music, but I had this example set up already 🤷‍♂️ #gamedev

Been wanting to do something with textures and attempt baby's first level building with a 3D modeller. It was a bit of a steep learning curve vs GtkRadiant, but I got to the point of making very bland room 😄 - newfound respect for every game level I ever ran through.

Rant time :D -- My game engine toolchain and Thunder Helix is 100% built on Collada - thankfully I don't use Blender and now I literally can't change 3D editors if I wanted to without a huge rewrite oops 💀 -- Wonder what they'll delete next ???

Spectrum Next #Delphian progress: added a linked polygon system so that I can link surface detail to a polygon. Also added support for 5-sided polygons. Rearranged some memory too, so models are now in their own bank. Oh, and added some quick lasers too! Next step might be to make ships move...

So it is possible to do 60fps 3d on the sega megadrive by using a very exotic indexing method to simulate 2 colors + alternating lines + fast DMA. Totally interlaced my brain 🙃
