and the subhead helps props up a false claim this professor was up to something seedy as something up for debate

There is a uniquely (or perhaps just severely) American tendency to weight exceptional cases higher than majority cases—in fact, as if they were majority cases—in order to make bad-faith arguments. I think it’s more than simple bias, it’s like a reasoning disability.

Pointing out that the flag of the largest, most oppressive empire in history is used as a white supremacist symbol is in no way equivalent to hatred of trans people, and it’s pretty insensitive of you to make that comparison.

The thing is, they don’t beep at 2AM. They beep every few minutes the entire time their batteries are low. They don’t have internal clocks; it’s not possible for them to selectively beep at a time of day.
