Kudos to #LatinBlood for instantly establishing there's nothing heterosexual about military service.

And, of course, trust @infinata.bsky.social to infuse fascinating new bits of storytelling into locations we've only briefly seen on screen — so far.

This spread makes me wish for a new X-Wing video game set during the New Republic era, where Adelphi is your home base / training level.

Also really curious about this new series — and just what kind of "Star Wars romances" they'll be allowed to explore should the first book be a success.

An original post-TLJ novel about Rey training under Leia on Tython, repairing her lightsaber and coming to terms with losing Luke?

Well, that's my most anticipated Star Wars story of 2026 right there!

(to be fair, they did find a clever way out at the end, revealing the main events as a dream thought up by a guy living in modern Uzbekistan — so, naturally, it'd be full of artifice)

Kinda, but I think the idea of that criticism is that the film's ambition outstretches its means.

This year I saw an Uzbeki indie that styles itself as a lush period noir set in the US, and, like... I respect the effort, but they simply didn't have the sets, props and costumes for that approach.

Can't stop thinking back to #AlienEarth — so much to love and be fascinated with there!

Its rich lighting, off-kilter editing and intricate design, its use of depth in staging, its ruminations on identity and inhuman corporate egotism.

Really, really want this show to get a renewal.

Loth-cat is out of the bag 🐱

I've teamed up with Bombora Publishing to write a book about the long, storied history of Star Wars video games!

From 1980s arcades to 2020s VR experiences, it is a chronicle of how the greatest cinematic saga changed technology and pop culture – and changed with them.

Yup! I'm glad I watched Nightmare Alley just before this one, because it added a whole new unintended layer of being amused at the "true story" bullshit.

Not that a demon-infested mirror suddenly turning into a helicopter wasn't amusing in its own right.

Having never seen a Conjuringverse movie before (the companion made me do it 😈), are they all like that?

//marked for spoilers//

Cheers! I saw a report of Wessman mentioning a Falcon game during his GDC panel the other year. Never knew he elaborated on that later!

As for Holland's interview, it's from Lucasfilm Fan Club Magazine #22 – the final one before they became Star Wars Insider.
ilglaz.bsky.social
Okay, that's actually quite clever!
ilglaz.bsky.social
I didn't get a clear idea from the announcement: is that a full-on audio drama, Dooku-style, or more of a narrated book?
ilglaz.bsky.social
Reading Larry Holland's interviews around the time of #TIEFighter release and wondering what his initial plans for that trilogy finale were.

@xwinggameseries.bsky.social, you heard anything about that in your research?
ilglaz.bsky.social
Not much to say about #TheConjuring #LastRites, but that was an A+ casting for "young Patrick Wilson".
ilglaz.bsky.social
Wow, they actually made Season 6!

There were some doubts if they would.
ilglaz.bsky.social
Only had one of those lately 😅 Probably need to remedy that.
ilglaz.bsky.social
And THIS is how I learn they made a new Partridge series??

(what good are those all-knowing algorithms, supposedly aware of our every like)
ilglaz.bsky.social
Just a ride, a ride, a ride 😛

And while I try not to comment on acting since I don't know the first thing about it, I know I won't ever forget this smile that Cate Blanchett gives in the climax.

Such an incredible mixture of triumph, disgust, decades of hurt bubbling up, maybe even anticipation of retribution.

Oh, I agree!

I occasionally felt that GDT's staging was a bit theatrical, favoring wide shots of people in intricately decorated interiors. But whenever he goes for a close-up... oooh, that man knows his movie magic too!
