I'm no expert in police tactics, but I'm pretty sure that's not how you enter a room where a dangerous armed killer is waiting for you 🤭

Gotta love 90s action movies and their ridiculousness!

I just find this really sad. Imagine being so certain that you need slop machines to do your work, that you convince yourself that EVERYBODY must need them.

And y'all said Shawn Levy is incapable of inspired creative choices!

A Star Wars score from the composer of WALL·E is gonna rock so hard 🔥🔥

It's amusing that, as meticulously detailed as SWEU was, in almost 30 years we never actually learned on which planet one of the levels for #MysteriesOfTheSith is set.

@writerryan.bsky.social, you ever established that within the team?

Still thinking on #NoOtherChoice and how it's about the lies the "good people" tell themselves – the greatest of which, of course, is that they have no other choice.

That illusion of inevitability is what capitalism is all about. It exploits our fears instead of helping us fulfill our potential.
Park Chan-wook's #NoOtherChoice is simply phenomenal! A filmmaking master class, where nearly every scene features some clever technique or unique visual flair.

Tense, hilarious and incisive in its exploration of how toxic masculinity is intrinsically linked to capitalism in a murder-suicide pact.

Last time I checked, the "worst movie ever made" scored 53 on Metacritic and B+ on CinemaScore (not great, not terrible), received three Oscar noms, three BAFTA noms, recognition from almost every technical guild, plus Grammy and Hugo noms.

But sure, go on with you performative hatred, I guess.

You are NOT prepared for how this is gonna go.

Such a pleasure to see a movie musical that employs all its tools — color, texture, staging, editing, aspect ratio! — to maximum narrative effect.

Such a daring, tender and wonderfully spectacular film!

It's not a competition, but I'm just sad that, among Film Musicals 2025, #Wicked is likely to score a billion dollars, while #KissOfTheSpiderWoman didn't even get to two million.

Feels soul-crushingly unfair.

—I might've left some lipstick down there.
—It's okay. It's the only place I wear it.

Look, sorry, I refuse to dislike a film that has writing like this!

Leave it to Leslye Headland to hit the nail on the head.

It's been a major issue since at least 2017. So many fans don't even want to experience actual stories anymore: they watch recaps, reactions, lore breakdowns. And the more inflammatory the rhetoric is, the more clicks it attracts.

I wish I wasn't depressed, so I could pull myself from 4 into 5. Shouldn't take too much exercising, right?

...right?

This week's essential (and scary) viewing from @adamconover.net & @chafkin.bsky.social

Turns out, we are living in a Bond film, where a shadowy billionaire gets politicians elected, builds a global surveillance network, and seeks world domination through technology.

Well, see, something happened between the ending of Rebels and the start of Ahsoka.

Something that, coupled with Ezra's disappearance, would likely leave Sabine feeling insecure and trying to compensate by gaining more knowledge and power.

Looking back at #Mickey17, I have a theory that it came out just a few months too early to make a splash in the US.

In February, its target audience was still feeling deflated after Trump's victory.

By June, people were pissed off, energized and protesting. Exactly the right mindset for this film.

I admire the immense technical skill of #Gatillero, a gritty single-take crime thriller shot right on the streets of Buenos Aires's poor neighborhoods.

I admire director Cristian Tapia Marchiori's personal style even more.

Replaying #JediKnight, and one plot point make no sense to me.

Kyle Katarn sneaks aboard the transport heading for the Valley of the Jedi... in order to get the *map* to the Valley of the Jedi and get there on his own... and then climb the tower up to where the transport has been parked.

Why?

Need to watch more non-ENG films, so caught up on Cantet & Campillo's quietly queer #Enzo.

Under the guise of a coming of age drama lies an indictment of European bourgeoisie's complacency and fetishization of real struggles happening just off-screen. Respect its tact even as I wish it was angrier.

Speaking as a Russian, #TheRunningMan is low-key the most relatable film I've seen in years.

For y'all in the West, it's a warning. For us, it's a (slightly stylized) chronicle.

I'm probably in the minority on this one, but I never really connected with #ThePhoenicianScheme in the way I did with Asteroid City.

I struggle to find some thematic anchor that would hold its many colorful characters and locales together. Felt like flipping through a comic book.

Oh, the delights that Hollywood forgot!

‘POKER FACE’ has been cancelled by Peacock after 2 seasons.

However, Rian Johnson is pitching a new version of the series with Peter Dinklage taking over as detective Charlie Cale
