Veterans Day: Honor in Action

They chose service over comfort, courage over convenience.

They didn’t ask what was in it for them — they just showed up.
That kind of love for country deserves more than one day of parades. It deserves a country that shows up for them, too.

In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

For the first time all year, Democrats were riding high and the regime was on the ropes.

If Senate leadership’s goal was to demobilize and depress rank-and-file Democrats, they could not have played their cards better.

This is why we’ve launched the largest primary program that we’ve ever run.
Democratic leaders have failed us again. It's time to get new leaders.
After yet another capitulation by Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats, it's clear we need new leadership capable of mounting a serious opposition to Trump's authoritarian regime. We're launching our la...

In a moment when the stakes could not be higher, Senate Democrats failed the American people. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer failed to meet the moment. Go to Indivisible49.com for a statement from the Indivisible49 Leadership Team. Direct link: static1.squarespace.com/static/6441b...

Tim Kaine slept well tonight. People in America and in his district are actively not being able to afford food and healthcare. They aren’t sleeping well.
Tim Kaine on backlash he's getting: "I got the first good night's sleep last night that I've gotten since Oct 1, b/c I wasn't worried about being able to look Capitol Police in the eye when I walked in, or what a furloughed fed worker would say to me at church, or what somebody would say about SNAP"

This Senator is worth 24 million. All he has to do is sit comfortably in his gated community and not vote for this garbage but he did.
Many feel betrayal and frustration, and the feelings are hot right now.

I get it. I have my own feelings.

The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Senator Schiff is putting all of the responsibility onto the voters. If you are a constituent in CA, call him and urge him to call for new leadership in the Senate. Voters across the country made a huge statement last week giving Dems leverage they needed, and THEY failed us. He needs to act now.
Last night's so-called deal was a tragically disappointing result for the millions of Americans who are facing higher health care costs next year, and for our efforts to confront this bully of a President. I voted no.

Let's talk about where we go from here. youtu.be/Zc-sUG6myqE?...

Constituents of Mike Levin in CA should be proud of his strong leadership in this moment. Thank you @mikelevin.org
Chuck Schumer has not met this moment and Senate Democrats would be wise to move on from his leadership.

Schumer can be removed from his Dem leadership role this week - 23 Dems (and/or independents) just have to vote to depose him

And they should, given this is his fault.
This is a lovely sentiment but Schumer isn't up for re-election until 2028 and he knows this. At which point he will be 77/78. There's no mechanism to recall a sitting senator AFAIK.
Let’s be clear: Chuck Schumer is the one ending this shutdown, no matter how the votes read.

Chuck Schumer is claiming that he’s voting no, while letting other Senators (Fetterman, Kaine, King, etc) do HIS dirty work.

He must be removed from his leadership & primaried for the sake of this country

We deserve a Democratic Party that is willing to fight as hard as we are.

We need new leadership in this moment and to get there, we need a chorus of support for change. Tell your Democratic senators to call on Senator Schumer to step aside as Minority Leader. It’s time for drastic action.

Calling on every Indivisible member across the country and those who demand new leadership for the Democratic party to call your Dem senator. Chuck has go to go.

I stand with @sanders.senate.gov. This is not about politics, but about real people. It's not about securing a vote for show, but preventing premium hikes for Americans who are scared of what that will mean for them.

It is indeed a cataclysmic failure. Democrats in the Senate - not only the 8 who voted "yes" (including our Sen. Kaine) who are not up for an election anytime soon, but also no-voting minority leader Schumer and perhaps other Dems who managed to distance themselves from this coalition of 8.
Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

Will our CA senators do the right thing for the people and urge Schumer to step down? It’s clear he is unfit to lead. @schiff.senate.gov @schiff.senate.gov
I refuse to support a funding bill that fails to address the Republican health care crisis.

And make health insurance affordable.

The American people clearly understand the stakes and the urgency. We must too.

I'm voting no.

It’s a frightening reminder we cannot rely on many elected officials to stick up for the non-elites, for the working class, they will not stand up for the poor. We need to primary them if they lack the ability, stomach, and drive to fight for the people they represent.
Eight centrist Democratic senators just voted to reopen the government in exchange for a promise of a Senate vote on ACA subsidies.
That’s not a deal—it’s surrender.
They’ve given up real leverage
for a handshake agreement that might never happen./🧵
