SORRY I KEEP YAPPING AT YOU BUT PREACH!!! I love gaps!! Gaps are where we fans live & breathe!! I don't want every fucking thing definitively spelled out! I don't want to know every character's backstory from birth! I don't want every tiny detail spoonfed to me! Let me play in the space myself!

I think an issue in the Trek fandom (and other fandoms) is that some percentage of fans are, idk, maybe "traumatized" is too strong of a word, but they've been negatively affected by past fandom drama and their reaction to what they perceive as toxic negativity is to lean hard into toxic positivity
