SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Cuomo could have slunk away after his humiliation in the primary, decided to come back for another shot, and somehow found even lower ground to sink to. Which is honestly an accomplishment when your starting position is "sexual assaulter who killed everybody's grandma"

Just checking: the republicans that attacked and sent marshals to arrest Texas dems for not showing up to work (in an effort to protect voting rights, btw) are the same republicans that are not showing up to work, yeah?

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

“An attack on anyone’s fundamental rights is an attack on all of us.”

We have more power than they do, if we choose to exercise it.

Stop shopping as much as possible.

Call big box stores and tell them why.

Write your reps, no matter their party.

Break the law, face the consequences. That goes for ICE agents who commit illegal acts outside of their official functions.

This is the guy who lied on the stand at a trial in LA, telling the jury he witnessed the defendant assault the ICE officer, when the video showed the ICE officer assault the defendant. The jury took an hour to acquit. He's referred to immigrants as "filth, trash, and scum."

Stop trying to sweeten the deal, Andrew. I'm already voting for Zohran!

Someone want to tell Mikey here that 86% of all SNAP benefits go to households that include a child, an elderly person, or a person with disabilities?

Or that almost 40% of SNAP recipients are children?

And that Whites account for 37% of SNAP recipients?

Did you know that over 1.3M active duty service members and veterans rely on SNAP benefits to feed themselves and their families?

Now you know.

People say you have to take MAHA seriously because "they have real concerns just aimed at the wrong targets" but you really don't, but I haven't any of the granola-fash say shit about kids going hungry from SNAP being cut off. Kinda hard to be healthy with no food, but hey.

Step by step guide to higher ed crisis for Dem candidates giving stump speeches. This isn’t hard:

1) States cut taxes to serve the rich

2) with less revenue, they cut public higher ed budgets

3) with lower budgets, schools raise tuition and throw money at investments, athletics, and development

Houston, we have a problem.

And probably plenty of other American cities.

And this is before SNAP payments end.
