I ran a simulated social media experiment with 1450 Republicans to test different fact-checking interventions.

AI produced the largest decrease in engagement with Trump misinformation, outperforming independent fact-checkers and doing so far more consistently than Community Notes.
Looking forward to present my newest project at @campaign-lab.bsky.social on Thursday.

I used a simulated social media experiment to examine the effects of different fact-checking strategies on engagement with pro-Trump misinformation among Republicans.

Excited to discuss the findings!
Don’t miss our next Academic Series event next week, where Isolde Hegemann (LSE) will explore how AI can help counter political misinformation.

Had a great time at the Zweitstimme.org Workshop on Elections, Public Opinion & Elite Behaviour.

I presented my work on the impact of radical right parliamentary presence on mainstream party strategies on democracy.

Inspiring presentations and conversations, thank you @zweitstimme.bsky.social!

@dpzollinger.bsky.social and I are thrilled "Cleavage Politics in Western Democracies" is out as an SI at @wepsocial.bsky.social!

Its papers explore the foundations of the cleavage pitting new left against radical right parties, and how it compares to the classic cleavages of Lipset & Rokkan:
