I went with a bunch of my fellow Georgetown undergrads amid Embassy Row trick-or-treating in 2008; the Scientologists (1) did not have candy (2) coerced our two friendliest group members into their basement to watch videos

The best model I’ve found is that volunteers are only ever responsible for one part (a salad! a soup! a bread! a dessert!) and that element of the meal is only needed of them once a month; the schedule is published a month ahead so they can swap as needed
