Time to make some food, so i'm going to leave you with these beautiful Corsac Fox captures from Five Sisters Zoo on our last visit to Scotland.
They are stunning little Foxes to watch, we spotted 3 while we were watching them but not sure how many they have there

What's your diner order?

Breakfast is corned beef hash, two dippy eggs and an English muffin. Side of scrapple if I'm home in Philly.

Lunch is triple decker club sandwich or BLT

Dinner is chicken fried steak and a baker, sour and butter, or mashed and gravy
Diners are dying. Grew up in Philly in diner culture. My first job was bussing tables at the counter. LA used to have diners everywhere, too. Still the famous ones on the west side and Nat's in the Valley, etc, but so many have closed. Nothing better than a thick handled bottomless mug coffee
The timing of this vaguely coincided with me moving from NY to CA so I think I chalked it up to east coast/west coast. But, yeah, when I go back to NY these days, it's been all coffee shops for a long time.

Also, diners went away. But that also might be east coast/west coast.

A new investigation has revealed that grocery delivery service Instacart is using a covert, AI-powered dynamic pricing scheme to charge customers different prices for the same items — potentially costing households over $1,000 more a year.
Instacart Reportedly Using Secret AI-Powered Dynamic Pricing to Jack Up Prices
In an experiment, investigators found that the same grocery basket at a Seattle store cost between $114 and $124.

Brings tears to my eyes 🥹
This Georgia flip is in a district that the GOP drew to drown Democratic voters in Athens into a neighboring red county, Oconee.

But tonight, Dems in Athens were out in FULL FORCE to swamp that gerrymander.

A huge night for Democrats:

—They flip Miami's mayorship.
—They flip a state House district in Georgia that had voted Trump by 13%.
—They keep Albuquerque's mayorship, while the liberal faction flips city council.
—And they get big overperformances (+18 & +22) in 2 Florida specials.

I said it before, will say it again -- generative AI fetishizes "ideas" while sneering at effort, execution, and education. That, despite Gen-AI being built on and out of other people's effort, execution and education.
A.I. and the Fetishization Of Ideas
In writing and in dispensing my (very dubious, probably shady) writing advice, I am often keen to note that ideas are bullshit. Most writers treat them like precious gems when really, ideas are lik…

My story:

Second time riding Ratatouille since it switched to 2D, and as much as it pains me to admit, it’s growing on me. It helps that you’re meant to be small so all the projections looking large now without 3D still works. I’ll still miss 3D, but maybe not as much as I thought.

Oh nice!! I hate 3D rides... or 3D anything for that matter, but especially rides. Wearing glasses over glasses is bad enough, but rides make me completely nauseated.

OBVIOUSLY do not use AI, at all. AT ALL, for anything. I don’t wanna hear about the theoretical good version, it’s not what they’re pushing on us. The absolute worst people in the world have gone all in on this shit, and it needs to be starved out as much as possible. AI: not even once!
Sec. Hegseth rolled out the U.S. military’s new AI platform, GenAi.Mil, with a link to an empty website. trib.al/tbCJAkT

Predictably, the platform can’t actually be accessed from external networks, but the wonky rollout triggered eyerolls across the internet.
