A thing that people who don’t work with Pantone swatches might miss about why the Color of the Year announcement is a peculiar brand decision is that it functionally leaves out a large group of their active user base. 🧵

A not-insignificant portion of employees of companies who design holiday ornaments refer to them almost exclusively as “orns” in work communication, but any time I’ve mentioned that I get the funniest responses.

Those Avery brand “Handwrite Only, No-Iron” Fabric Labels are the best. I haven’t yet found an easier way to label kids’ stuff for school.

My boring clothes shopping tip is that if I find a pair of pants I really, REALLY like on sale, I price out buying in 2 sizes because 1.) I dislike how stressful shopping for clothes often is & want to save time for future me 2.) it should be normal to consider that bodies fluctuate and plan for it.

For anyone who needs this: make a playlist that has the vibe of (at least what an American might consider to be) a Parisian-inspired café. It’s a good compromise when you want the lighthearted nostalgia without getting burnt out on the holiday theme.

There's tons of research on this in school contexts (plus DV & cults as Sandy notes). The only programs that effectively address bullying 1) bolster community relationships & 2) provide explicit bystander training. Standing up to a bully/abuser runs counter to human survival instincts.

Just wanted to say: Have been reading versions of this a lot.
If you've survived an abuse situation, you understand the *point* is that he insults her AND that nobody speaks up. Of course nobody does. The entire presentation is the propaganda. It's about the witnesses' compliance and complicity.

Trump’s “plan” for healthcare is to give $2000 directly to the people so they can negotiate their own care.
$2000 won’t do anything when serious illness crops up.
He knows this.
It’s eugenics.
He wants the poor, the disabled & marginalized to die.
He sees us as “useless eaters”.
