Keir Starmer needs to stand up for the BBC against Trump's outrageous $5bn lawsuit and protect licence fee payers from being hit in the pocket.

Trump wants to interfere in our democracy and undermine our national broadcaster. We cannot let him.

New post just out:

"The Overshoot"

Net migration is collapsing, and will fall further over the coming years. We could even have net emigration.

What does that mean for the country and the political narrative as we head towards the next election?

News from all around most UK Higher Education: it's lapsing into a chaotic state and parts are non-functional. If it were a state I would say large tracts are in a pre-revolutionary state of disintegration. I don't say this lightly.

The findings, described in the journal Nature, push back the earliest known date for controlled fire-making by roughly 350,000 years. Until now, the oldest confirmed evidence had come from Neanderthal sites in what is now northern France dating to about 50,000 years ago.

Amazing, the @dailymail.co.uk manages to publish an entire lengthy feature bewailing (!!!!) the exodus of Poles from Britain without once mentioning Brexit. Apparently this outcome (which is surely exactly what they campaigned for in 2016) is all the fault of Keir Starmer.

The great exodus: How Poles are ditching UK for their booming homeland
New statistics reveal that while 7,000 Poles arrived in the year ending last June, 25,000 returned home: a net outflow of 18,000. The UK's total Polish population has shrunk to 750,000.

Spot on piece by @robertshrimsley.bsky.social. It will be the next Labour leader who makes the case for the UK to go back into the EU, not the current one. Keir Starmer does not have the credibility or political chops to do it - even if he wanted to. Labour MPs and members know this.
A Brexit survival strategy that shows Starmer’s days are numbered
Labour will need a different leader if it pursues a policy of rejoining the EU customs union or single market
