“We can give $20 billion to Argentina but we can’t afford the CDC’s measles experts” is a hell of an argument

What politician is ever going to come out publicly against paying the military? I mean, you’re right, but it’s just not going to happen

I saw this, laughed, changed screens and now I can't find it again or I would credit it fully: Someone described Kid Rock, who was apparently attempting to opine on something tonight, as being "the human equivalent of an above-ground pool."

Perfect.

EL PASO — a family says ICE showed up at their house looking for migrants and shot and KILLED THEIR DOG, then didn’t help them as the agent ran away and was not identified.

Horrifically creepy and emblematic of this rape-coded administration, but also a govt employee staying at the fuckin ritz on a business trip shows you how much the DC world has changed since the DOJ muffin scandal of 2011.

"30-year-old conservative lawyer and activist who is Trump’s nominee to lead the Office of Special Counsel, which deals with federal employee whistleblower complaints and discrimination" cancelled his colleague's hotel room so she would be forced to stay with him.

In late July, Paul Ingrassia, the White House liaison for the Department of Homeland Security, arrived at a Ritz-Carlton in Orlando with a lower-ranking female colleague and others from their department. When the group reached the front desk, the woman learned she didn’t have a hotel room.

Ingrassia then informed her that she would be staying with him, according to five administration officials familiar with the episode. Eventually the woman discovered that Ingrassia had arranged ahead of time to have her hotel room canceled so she would have to stay with him, three of those officials said.

I have been railing about this for six months. Look at what’s happening in the swing states. Republican legislatures and election officials are maneuvering to rig the system.
And if Trump is convinced he’s losing the House, he’ll find a pretense to stop the election.

I guess government bailouts are OK for other countries if their leader kisses your ass and some of your buddies will benefit. Good to know.

Kristi Noem, while governor of South Dakota, supplemented her roughly $130,000 salary by secretly accepting $80,000 donated to a political nonprofit she was affiliated with, records show.

She never disclosed this income on federal ethics forms.

NYT adds to @juddlegum.bsky.social's reporting about the billionaires that Scott Bessent is bailing out by propping up Javier Milei.

www.nytimes.com/2025/10/09/u...
Those efforts have been complicated by the fact that major hedge funds, including those led by friends of Mr. Bessent, stand to benefit financially from an Argentina economic lifeline. Funds at investment firms including BlackRock, Fidelity and Pimco are heavily invested in Argentina, as are investors such as Stanley Druckenmiller and Robert Citrone, both of whom worked with Mr. Bessent when he was an investor for George Soros.
