Jeezus, all social media is rubbish. Period.

The first answer: "In this country those honors are conferred by consensus after a person's death."

The second: "I'm not particularly worried about anyone who thinks a man who spiritually and financially bankrupted us is worthy of his name on a building."
I doubt that any Democrat in the '28 mix would leave Trump's name on buildings. Questions are how they talk about taking it off, and what they say when reporters ask some version of "but wouldn't that further divide the country?"
There's a series of things (like the ballroom, Gulf of America) that we're going to have to *undo* the moment this guy is out of office.
And yet I can already hear future Democrat presidents saying "I'm focused on the people's work, not the knucklehead stuff" and just leave this man's shit up.

At least 20 people who have received clemency from President Trump so far this year were also forgiven of financial penalties totaling tens of millions.

Some of these offenders owed money to victims of fraud. Now they won't get their money back.
Trump’s pardons wipe out payments to defrauded victims
In addition to clearing prison sentences, the president’s clemency actions have erased millions in restitution payments.

@dicknixon.bsky.social The thing about the Wiles interview, sir, is that it reveals she’s just not very smart or intuitive. She may be an efficient functionary, but she’s not a strategist.
She keeps the trains running, but that’s basically it.

Oh, you mean TPUSA’s Andrew Kolvet who was interviewed by the NYTimes’s Ross Douthat THIS WEEK where he talked about how much he cares about fact-based, non-conspiratorial media and Ross didn’t challenge him at all on that assertion?
Brown University released a statement about a Palestinian student that's being smeared online as the shooting suspect.

Not going to share his post because it includes the student's personal info but one of those spreading this harmful rumor was the spokesperson for Turning Point USA, Andrew Kolvet.

School vouchers have been a complete disaster here in AZ.
Fraud is rampant and they are mainly benefiting the rich
Arizona, the model for voucher programs across the country, spent so much money paying private schoolers’ tuition that it faced hundreds of millions in budget cuts to critical state programs and projects last year.

It sucks to reach the age where you can predict how humans will process virtually every situation. It often doesn’t end well.

The ravenous, all-consuming narcissism that has rotted the mind of this man requires that every event, every tragedy, every circumstance be ultimately about him. Others in the world do not exist as fully human; they operate only to validate Donald Trump. This is a gross display of mental illness.
Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer were murdered. This is how Trump decided to respond.

This is an absolutely wonderful thread about a scene in the Princess Bride.

In honor of the late great Rob Reiner and this glorious thread, and because I am unfortunately sicker today than I was yesterday, I will re-watch the Princess Bride today
As you may know, I have stopped using Twitter, and have decided to reproduce some of my more memorable threads here for posterity. Here’s one I hold wrote after a particularly engaging swordfighting lesson.

Buckle up, swordfighting fans, because I *have* studied my Agrippa!
