The UK government has successfully made it harder for women to organise, find camaraderie and share knowledge, while simultaneously ensuring only the vilest most bigoted women are left in a position to do so.
All by targeting and excluding trans women. It’s as clever as it is disgusting.
At least 12 WI groups are closing or considering closure after the organisation barred transgender women from membership.

Members say more groups are likely to close, and that the federation’s decision has opened up a toxic, traditionalist culture that will deter younger women from joining.

This isn't just about HE underfunding but about the additional expectations that are continually placed in Unis. Driving local economies, cultural provision, health provision and bursaries for students, spin out company support, visa checking. All important stuff but are we now expecting too much?

I checked my vaccination history last year using the NHS app to send a message to my GP. I got both mmr jabs as I'd just missed the rollout in the 80s. Worth checking if there's any doubt.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Health officials are racing to contain a growing measles outbreak in London, which has struck down dozens of young children and affected 7 schools and a nursery.

UKHSA has warned an outbreak across London could see 40,000 - 160,000 cases:

Trying to help my elderly Dad renew his E.ON Next tariff following an email from them. Their website is so crap - nothing works. Can't get a quote, can't see the tariff options so he can work out what's best, definitely can't renew anything. 🤬

Europe desperately wants the US to be Normal Again so it doesn’t actually have to engage with any of the hard work (and spending) that engaging with reality actually involves.

So if Rubio gives a speech with ~better vibes~ it gets lapped up, even if it’s meaningless on substance.
Jesus Christ, a standing ovation? For an apologist for a regime which is buying warehouses to build concentration camps and murdering protesters on the street?

You may laugh, but the Macbeths are a much better role model for a marriage than Romeo and Juliet. They discuss their problems (killing the king of Scotland), share their hobbies (killing the king of Scotland), and resolve their conflicts (by killing the king of Scotland).

There are some Star Trek fans weirdly obsessed with “decorum” and they really fixate on how Holly Hunter sits in the captain’s chair on STARFLEET ACADEMY. One guy left a comment on the official FB whining about it and so Captain Janeway herself responded to drop the hammer

Tawny wrote a whole emotional Insta post about her and Cirroc and everyone working so hard to make sure that it felt like it did justice to Avery and being in regular communication with him to ensure that it had his blessing, people really think a Black Trekkie writer is fucking around with that???
I stumbled on a reddit thread where people have convinced themselves that the "Thank you Avery" message at the end of last week's episode of #StarTrekStarfleetAcademy was meant as a sarcastic "Fuck you" to Avery Brooks rather than an homage, and I just don't understand people.

- herpes simplex virus causes cold sores, genital herpes, infections in babies, deadly meningitis
- shingles virus causes an intensely painful disease

i also don’t think we even know the scale of theft and corruption this *single family* has been responsible for, i am only certain that it’s far larger than anyone currently knows
i believe in confiscatory policy targeting assets of every single person with the trump surname not because i think we can use it to pay for healthcare or pay down the debt or whatever, but because they stole it and it doesn’t belong to them
i can remember how in the 80s and the 90s, imelda marcos’ shoe collection was a shorthand for comically naked thievery and corruption and now we have a first family who literally shat in golden toilets

Why would anyone be worried about having their personal data handed over to a company that works directly with ICE and the Israeli military? Well, I'd rather not be worried about people of colour, left wingers and members of protest groups being disappeared from NHS premises.

a stat i always cite is the number of anti-trans articles in the press went from 60 in a year, to 7,500

Things the UK media aren’t talking about enough:

- Palantir
- Epstein files revelations that don’t involve Andrew Windsor or Peter Mandelson
- Reform omnishambles (Farage/Bannon democracy smashing, telling people they can’t work from home whilst leader works from home, counsellor racism).

Fuentes, yesterday: “Our #1 political enemy is women because women constrain everything, every conversation, every man, everything. They have to be imprisoned. They are the ones that are hurting the fertility rate. They're the ones making us sympathetic to poor people, which are also brown people.”
