Sure. AI companies have ALWAYS been training their models on Wikipedia content, which under the free and open access model is available to anyone — including AI companies. Agreements like these require AI companies to limit and offset the strain they place on Wikimedia infrastructure.
Hoping that @molly.wiki can help explain.

In general my rule is to not type anything into a phone or computer that I couldn't live with the feds reading. You can't encrypt your way out of user error, malicious or accidental.
Signal’s encryption is good. That encryption does not prevent people who aren’t friendly from listening to you when you don’t know who you’re talking to. Use common sense and don’t say anything to 1000 strangers you wouldn’t want read out loud by a right wing rag or in a court of law

Only a very specific baking audience is going to care about this but apparently the company that makes Silpat has abruptly shut down. I’m personally buying up ones I can find from secondary retailers cause these things are irreplaceable. I’m bummed.

Bill Watterson is my favorite cartoonist. I adored the relationship btw Calvin and Hobbes as a child. But as I've gotten older, these strips feel even more tender and insightful. My respect for him grew when I learned of his stance against merchandising. Such principles are almost unheard of today.

For years, Watterson battled against pressure from publishers to merchandise his work, something that he felt would cheapen his comic through compromising the act of creation or reading.[21][22]
He refused to merchandise his creations on the grounds that displaying Calvin and Hobbes images on commercially sold mugs, stickers, and T-shirts would devalue the characters and their personalities. Watterson said that Universal kept putting pressure on him and that he had signed his contract without fully perusing it because, as a new artist, he was happy just to find a syndicate willing to give him a chance (two other syndicates had previously turned him down).
