Trey Reed, a student at Delta State University in Mississippi, was found hanging from a noose. Mississippi police ruled the death a suicide. Now an autopsy reportedly concludes that he suffered extensive blunt force trauma across his body before he died, meaning he was beaten before he was lynched.

I’m a tech dude who’s been a full-time telecommuter since 1998 (my company used my experience to quickly go remote in March 2020), and I guard my not-work time jealously. I once REAMED a sales guy who gave my home number (pre-mobile) to a client on the west coast. I’m absolutely 7-3:30-5!

Yes, it is a simple extortion attempt - obvious, crude, and stupid. Agreeing to this would be humiliating and utterly self-destructive.

Here’s a thought for the press: if the only statement from ICE that you were able to fact check turned out to be a lie, maybe don’t lead with their version of a story requiring them to “defensively” fire bullets at someone.

Tricia McLaughlin, a spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security, said the shooting erupted after patrolling agents were
"rammed by 10 cars" and "boxed in." Agents then fired "defensive shots" when they discovered the woman "was armed with a semi-automatic weapon" while driving one of the cars.
The time and location of the shooting weren't immediately known. No law enforcement officials were hurt.

McLaughlin said the woman who was shot
"drove herself to the hospital to get care for wounds." But Larry Merritt, a Chicago Fire Department spokesman, said she was found near 39th Street and Pershing Road and taken in fair condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
The Chicago Sun-Times and WBEZ have not independently verified ICE's account of the traffic stop.

This sounds very suspicious. Even if it’s fully accurate, moving aggressively into cities, wearing masks & refusing to identify themselves as federal agents, and creating an atmosphere of fear among the general public is generating the dangerous conditions that will make armed encounters more common

WHOA: DHS says that their officers were “rammed and blocked in” in Chicago and got out of their cars and shot an U.S. citizen who reportedly also had a gun and who had been tracking ICE raids. They are blaming the shooting on her, and say they were already tracking her socials. More details to come.

This morning, during routine patrolling in Broadview, in the same area of Chicago that law enforcement were assaulted yesterday, our brave law enforcement officers were rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars.
Agents were unable to move their vehicles and exited the car. One of the drivers who rammed the law enforcement vehicle was armed with a semi-automatic weapon. Law enforcement was forced to deploy their weapons and fire defensive shots at an armed US citizen who drove herself to the hospital to get care for wounds.
The armed woman was named in a @CBP intelligence bulletin last week for doxing agents and posting online 'Hey to all my gang let's fuck those mother fuckers up, don't let them take anyone.'

Thankfully, no law enforcement officers were seriously injured in this attack.
Pritzker's Chicago Police Department is leaving the shooting scene and refuses to assist us in securing the area. There is a growing crowd and we are deploying special operations to control the scene.
This is an evolving situation and we will give more information as soon as it becomes available.
