From the land of the mundane, just discovered the slider on Zoom multi-speaker view! It's great!!

The slider is between the speakers and the gallery below.

Multi-speaker view is great for big meetings.

I thought we were told words do not equal violence and so to claim otherwise is a problem. What happened to that fucking crowd? Or do words equal violence now?
Bovino: "When politicians, community leaders, & some journalists engage in that heated rhetoric we keep talking about, when they make the choice to vilify law enforcement calling law enforcement 'Gestapo' or using the term 'kidnapping,' that is a choice & there are actions & consequences."

You should have an unfettered right to carry a firearm to keep yourself safe.

Or, also, so government agents can use it as a pretext to murder you.

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.

Shout out to Dr. Cheryl Wilkes who was featured in a @wsj.com article discussing how healthcare is going all-in on AI, from reading patient scans to fighting insurance denials, but also its limitations.

📖 Our new study in @jamainternalmed.com examines the primary care workforce serving fee-for-service Medicare beneficiaries using a pragmatic, patient-centered measure: clinicians available for new patient visits per beneficiary.

Some perspective: The S&P opened down -1.3% on Trump's Greenland saber-rattling. That's $750 billion of wealth destroyed -- roughly equal to estimates of the value of Greenland.

And so ~in dollar terms~ his shenanigans have already cost the US one Greenland, and we've got nothing to show for it.

🤦‍♂️Presently reviewing a grant that has, average, 3 abbreviations per sentence. Many sentences have 6 or more.

I'd throw out that if your text has more than one abbreviation per sentence -- which is already a lot -- you are just frustrating your reviewers.

Don't make your reviewers hate you.
An abbreviation (ABB) in a journal article (JA) or Grant Application (GA) is rarely worth the words it saves. Every ABB requires cognitive resources (CR) and at my age by the time I'm halfway through a JA or GA I no longer have the CR to remember what your ABB stood for.

This is potentially good. Maybe we've peaked for this go round. (Though it's only one data point.)

So, I actually thought the final, Northwestern-produced video about antisemitism and anti-Muslim bias wasn’t terrible.

Other modules were some of the most insipid, infuriating content I’ve ever had the misfortune to be assigned to me.
This year's 3 hour slog through Northwestern's antidiscrimination training (bearing in mind that I literally used to practice in this area of law) is gonna be so much worse when I get to the new bit where they're probably gonna say that disagreeing with Benjamin Netanyahu makes you Hitler
