I love when an inadvertant double-feature book pairing happens. It's happened to me a few times before, like when I read Jeff Vandemeer's Annihilation and Leonora Carrington's The Hearing Trumpet back-to-back, both of which having large living structures as a part of their climax

I found one of my all time favorite books and authors (Par Lagerkvist's The Dwarf) just browsing in a store and seeing a book with a good design. I had no idea who he was (I was vaguely familiar with Barabbas) & would never have given him a second look if I'd just seen the name on a computer
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

My second demand (I'd be drunk with power in this scenario) would be a live action Beavis & Butthead starring Owen & Luke Wilson. No prosthetics, no voice imitations, just those two guys dressed like B&B delivering that dialogue as themselves
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

I wouldn't demand a full movie. Instead, I'd have the Coen brothers film a half hour behind the scenes featurette for a fake movie as the Cone Brothers, both of them totally serious, totally deadpan, the whole time made up as Coneheads
