To be real it's not even just revision, it's negation of history in many cases.

This phenomenon, indeed persistent pursuit by many white Americans, contributed to my writing When Trees Testify (from @henryholtbooks.bsky.social / @macmillanpubusa.bsky.social)

Many prefer revisionist history because for them facing the full truth is "corrosive". Actively revising the telling of history--not the reality of it--while simultaneously actively reproducing aspects of the worst of it in real time is a long-term US project & shame.

Now this is the handwriting (and the organized page layout) of a real crystallographer!
We couldn't let World Handwriting Day go by without sharing Kathleen Lonsdale's penmanship ✍️

Lonsdale conducted pioneering research in X-ray crystallography and worked at the Ri. In 1929, she proved that the structure of benzene was flat—the chemical was also discovered here, by Michael Faraday.

My lab got involved with our aquaculture facility and so I've jumped into the deep end of Vibrio. And of course we have a novel one that is a relative of a major fish pathogen. And of course this one grows at human temps.

The description manuscript title: Sorry we found the nastiest Vibrio ever.

[FOUNDER'S BRIEF - @rhettayersbutler.bsky.social]

A new United Nations treaty governing biodiversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction entered into force on January 17th, 2026, creating the first global framework to conserve life on the high seas.

The agreement covers about 60% of the ocean.
