at some point I set this anigif as my bsky profile header image just to see if it would be animated; it wasn't, obviously, but then I just left it there

A few nights ago an acquaintance told me she'd done TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) for depression. Clinicians had checked which parts of her brain weren't lighting up. Then she'd mused aloud about TBIs and wondered how many people are walking around with various dead zones in their brains
“When participants used ChatGPT to draft essays, brain scans revealed a 47% drop in neural connectivity across regions associated with memory, language, & critical reasoning.

Their brains worked less, but they felt just as engaged—a kind of metacognitive mirage.”🧪

I'm begging any artists still using Twitter claiming it's integral to their work to just leave. It's been revealed the site works off a made up "credit score" from hell and punishes you for posting like a normal human being.

Abandon Twitter for good. It's time. It's been time.

Oh, free money ran out a while ago. This is expensive money from investors desperate to recapture the ROIs of a decade ago.

The main threat to the AI bubble is probably that the power grid cannot support many more data centers.

Small changes to ‘for you’ feed on Twitter can rapidly increase political polarization.

Just a week of political content can bring about a shift in views that previously would’ve taken 3 years

Q: "What exactly is Steam policy on mature content?"

A: "Nobody really knows. It's important to note that HORSES' ban has nothing to do with the recent restriction on adult content pushed by payment processors; this decision was solely in the hands of Steam's curatorial team."
Our upcoming game HORSES was preemptively banned from Steam, with no path to appeal. The game will still launch next week on December 2nd and will be available on EGS, GOG, Humble, and Itch for $4.99. Here is a detailed FAQ covering what happened: horses.wtf/BannedFromSt...

I've been thinking about this: generally, about how skilled labor is being devalued, and particularly, about the way creative labor is rendered invisible (often by having someone else assume credit for it). @brandon.insertcredit.com wrote a nice thread about giving precise, granular credit yesterday
