We have a very nice, very smart, young engineer on our team. In a recent team meeting the Beastie Boys came up...and she had never heard of the Beastie Boys. And I about crumbled into dust. The kids don't know the Beastie Boys? (She's not even a KID, she's a couple years out of college!)

Finally watching Kpop Demon Hunters. This is pretty good, but the fight choreography should have been better.

My freshman dorm roommate (who was a junior) had what can only be described as a shrine to Kate Beckinsale in our room.

He was a weird dude.

This is where @funcityventures.bsky.social's Fun Chatty inevitably cuts to The Girl From Ipanema while a cast member is allegedly saying something that would get you banned from Bluesky
Though editing humans is one of the most controversial pursuits in medicine, the rise of companies focused on it reflects a countervailing belief: that the capability to edit embryos creates an obligation to use it

We need to bring back the 80s-90s thing where films start with the main character realizing they are late for work/school/curfew and bicycling/running through a scenic filming location while an easy-listening pop song plays and the intro credits flash by

It took nearly 18 months for me to find work again after being laid off in 2016, and that wasn't even a particularly bad job market! It's one of the most powerless, hopeless feelings going through constant ghosting and rejection for that long. I've got huge empathy for anyone trying to find work.
"Jobs don't exist anymore" is a phrase I've repeated to myself a lot. No idea what the hell most of you do all day but if someone is paying you to do it, hold on for dear life, because if it goes away it feels like it's probably not coming back. Either that or I'm just particularly unemployable.
“Stella why do you put up with x or y” what would you like me to do man. I was unemployed for 18 of the last 36 months. Jobs don’t exist anymore. We take what we can get now, warts and all.

Grok, do a vulgar roast of Ian Rapoport's pie opinions.
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

They put School of Rock above The Princess Bride and if that's not enough of an indictment of the whole thing I don't know what to tell you.
The movie listed at #1 is so incredibly misplaced that it calls into question the veracity of the entire list. It belongs on the list, yes, but SO MUCH further down. An absolute, credibility-wrecking flub. Boo, @variety.com! Boo!
