Because there is no QB equivalent in MLB.
If there was, Paul Skenes would have the Pirates in the NLCS vs the Dodgers.
And that's why in a "big city" like Buffalo can keep Josh Allen.

I do enjoy the rhetoric that the Pirates are "trying" by finally giving their first multi year FA contract to...Ryan O'Hearn and then giving $12M to a 35 year old DH coming off a torn hip with a domestic violence background.
