Cis people really have no idea how it feels to watch a regime hold a press conference to admit, on camera, the pogrom against trans people they've been waging for 11 months is not only real, but they're going to double down on genocide and try to wipe out all the children first.

it's so disorienting the way ICE is targeting people location by location. if this were happening in WA, my family would be sitting down today to have a conversation about moving out of the country. what happens in MN can obviously happen here any day, but I find myself hesitating. feels weird.
Armed ICE agents trapped US citizens in a restaurant and demanded their papers. Federal agents walked into East African restaurants in Cedar-Riverside, MN. They closed and blocked the doors. Then they demanded to see everyone’s papers. Every person present was a US citizen.

Go to your doctor and get your measles titers checked to make sure you are still immune and if not get re-vaccinated. It’s more and more likely all of us are going to eventually come in contact with it.
The thing about measles is that it’s the only known virus that triggers immune amnesia - it causes your immune system to forget everything it has previously learned. Meaning you essentially reset to zero and are now at risk of basically everything.

It can take 2-3 years to get immunities back.

I'm a bit worried about all the warm rain falling on the snow on mountain passes right now. The volume of rain in W WA is already pretty high, and our most dangerous historic floods have happened during snow melt. And right now at Snoqualmie Pass it's 55 degrees and raining. #wawx
I'm walking to a meeting in a T-shirt right now. Yakima's normal high temp for Dec 10 is 39°F. The record high for this day was 64°F back in 1946, so we've shattered that by at least six degrees and it's not even 1 o'clock. Insane.

#wawx
These subtropical air masses that reach the PNW keep getting warmer and wetter as the climate warms as a whole.

Yakima, WA has reached 70 degrees today, the only other 70+ in Dec was 72 on 12/1/2021.

The atmospheric water vapor content is near record highs for Dec, increasing rainfall amounts.

My phone is constantly prompting me to free up more storage space so I can install updates and like.... I know there are security features etc that I do need, but also there's a certain freedom to having my phone stay as is until I actively choose to change it.
new iOS update is sleek and also defaults in Music to “you must want songs transition as they would on a dance floor.” so many people will wonder why they can’t just listen to an album. Apps > Music > Song Transitions > toggle off.

My feet were cold (and crafting garments is keeping me above water this winter) so I decided to learn how to knit wool socks. This is the best instructional on the internet for top-down socks, I made a pair in just a couple of days and I think I'll make another one next week

The only legal scholars I want to hear from in the years to come are the ones seriously thinking about how to fully disempower the Supreme Court. What would that take? THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX. Offer practical suggestions that could become political campaigns led by the public.

Very similar to the trans-kids panic, where the prestige media narrative is that it's far too easy but you talk to any trans person, expert or parent and it's obvious that it's way too hard.
Once again, no one making these claims seems to understand the enormous hurdles in the way of getting a kid the help they need - in this case - I dare anyone suggesting this to go through an IEP process.

Parental restrictions on library access continues to remain incredibly unpopular for a fourth year in a row.

The vast majority of public school parents are not looking to limit their children’s access in the library.

I'd get together all the people who made The Green Knight (2021) and just have them make whatever movie they wanted to make next, you know?
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

thanklessness absolutely grinds people down. If you're part of organizing efforts, do not forget to incorporate appreciation into the work. It really does matter.
doing community organizing can be such a brutal task sometimes. you volunteer your time freely and people still demand more and more without ever giving thanks for what you've done. it doesn't matter that you get nothing out of it, for some people your best is never enough

We should abolish the inheritance of money and land. When you die, your assets return to the people. Your kids can have the quilt you made by hand and your favorite painting, but the people get the rest.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.
