20 paragraphs down in the NBC News story that broke the information that the administration is considering invoking the Insurrection Act is the report that Stephen Miller is driving the issue.

Let me take a minute to remind folks that Christopher Columbus did NOT discover new lands. These lands were already home to Indigenous peoples since time immemorial, they were never wild or in need of taming. We had language, culture and even a spiritual connection to Creator.

I like carrying weird things by bike. Today a sample of the Gulf of Mexico ecosystem.
See next photo, but now strapped to my bike. Urchins and crabs and octocorals and whelks and tunicates and sponges and more, in a Tupperware.

How insanely outdated that we can really only call our congresspersons office between 9-5. I should be able to drunk dial them 24/7 to say how much I despise what they are doing.

Stephen Miller is murdering Venezuelans and Colombians in cold blood bc he believes it helps his propaganda campaign to paint Latinos as dangerous.

Stephen Miller views the air strikes as an opportunity to paint immigrants as a dangerous menace, according to one of the White House officials.

the folks who run our HPCC are so good and helpful but all it takes is drafting an email to them to try to fix something and then you start feeling guilty so you check paths yourself and figure out what dumb thing you were doing. the power of guilt.

Great episode about federal funding cuts to pedestrian, cycling, and transit infrastructure. To the current administration, projects “hostile to cars” don’t just include those that take space away from cars. Any transport money not going to cars is seen as a taking from cars due to motor normativity

Many sea stars begin life as young fairy-like creature (called a brachiolaria) that float through the open ocean. Eventually, a small star forms within them (here in yellow). The fairy-like brachiolaria sinks under the star’s weight, and the star pops out!

My gosh. After the US bombed multiple boats in the middle of the ocean, murdering people on grounds that they were allegedly "carrying drugs," the US Attorney General says "Just like we did with cartels, we're going to take the same approach, President Trump, with Antifa."

The academic “seminar” - just shy of an hour - is ancient comms tradition bound by busy schedules and isn’t half as good as having a few pints with that same colleague and a pad of paper

Anyway my talk is at 4 and I have too much to say.
