I have libertarian friends who make great points about the dangers of powerful governments and the value of privacy and free association.

I have democratic socialist friends who make great points about the value of universal government services.

Republican politicians like taxes -- as long as it's not rich people paying them.
Fun discovery: on an apples-to-apples basis, Trump's tariff taxes are larger than the tax increases in the House-passed version of Build Back Better in 2021.

Of course, the distribution of Biden's tax hikes on corporations and millionaires are different from Trump's tariffs.

Definitely worth a read— @vermontgmg.bsky.social raises an important question: why are ICE and CBP agents even armed at all, since they’re enforcing civil immigration law, essentially administrative rule violations. They’re more akin to meter maids than actual police officers.
Here's what DHS doesn't want you to know: Working for ICE is one of the safest jobs in America — and last year was the second-safest year for the agency on record.

And the doxxing? It hasn't actually happened even once.

The masks are justified by a lie. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/ice-s-mask...

Working for ICE is actually less dangerous than being an elementary school student in America.

When I worked for Reason magazine during Trump's rise to power in 2016, I was explicitly forbidden by the editor in chief from writing about Trump's racism, or the violence and racism at his rallies.

It was a "sideshow," I was told.

Those interruptions are more likely to:

He conveniently ignores the fact that he met Epstein again after he was found guilty...Ugh...
