This is an unspooling thread of total joy. A slug of forgotten comedy history.

The brilliant female clowns of silent cinema. This might be the most ALIVE thing you’ll see all day.
Since we are once again dealing with "the only silent era comedians of note were men" I feel I need to stand up for the ladies.

Every year I stop myself from posting “now look here you lot, my books would make an excellent Christmas present” in October because it’s way too early, and then I forget until it’s way too late.

Hope I’ve hit the sweet spot this time.

As everyone has said, an excellent call. It also makes me think Starmer should appoint Rylan Clark or Danny Dyer as UK ambassador to the US.
Trump in a room with a very charismatic person results in like half a day of Trump agreeing with everything that person said, so this has the potential to be very, very funny.

Random fact I learnt today - Kevin Coyne was at one time proposed as a replacement for Jim Morrison. Turned it down because he didn't fancy the leather trousers. Would have loved to hear the Doors' take on Marjory Razorblade, though.

Hahaha! Er. Someone has used AI to make analogue clocks with the live time.

Analogue clocks are really hard.

AI: spectacularly confident. Can be both subtly and spectacularly wrong. This is a lovely illustration of that.
