Co-signed in Antrim, Kerry, Waterford.
American culture of the 1840’s would have been *very fucking surprised* to see the Irish considered as co-founders.

Elon’s an ahistorical dipshit, but its always worth saying some stuff out loud: if you‘re a fellow Irish-American and you aren’t 100% pro-immigrant, you’re a fucking embarassment.
1/3 What Musk is really referring to here is, of course “race” - that construct that served to define the hierarchies of wealth & power structured by modern colonialism. Like other far right racists though, he uses the word “culture” as a seemingly less pernicious synonym.

29 years ago today, my wife and I first grabbed a pizza and went to a silly rom-com.

29 years. Good lord.

Dreamed I was back at our old house, but the new owners were a family I knew when I was a kid. Somehow, all my books were still there.

More importantly, the yard had gone wild and there were boa constrictors and rattlesnakes all around, and twice I was attacked.

What is the matter with you, brain?

I visited the Detroit Institute of Art in 2024 and was able to walk through the Diego Rivera atrium, which contained four walls personally painted by Rivera. The DIA offered him one wall for a mural. Rivera said “No. I like the light in here. I’m painting the whole room.” Truly astonishing result.

Just some guys using Christ's Parable of the Good Samaritan to disappear people.

straight to jail with them.
DHS here weaponizing the same community-focused impulses that have so often confounded so far - turning our best inclinations against us.
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

drop an album that was important to you when you were nineteen

1991 was a pretty good year for music.

Let's go with Ritual. Sucks that Perry is such a loser now.

I was at my neighbors when they had Pong, so I'm guessing about 1978. I was six.

Absolutely bonkers how fun that silly game was then. I was hooked immediately.
