It feels like a lot of the boomer hatred is really based on their being the last group you can get points for publicly hating. Suggests even the righteous want someone to hate.

These are most people’s parents and grandparents. Why do you hate mom and dad and grandpa so much?

On this note, my alt account is @thesess.bsky.social in case I just up and disappear again. Would appreciate spreading the word (RT’s don’t get stuck with the “rude”
Label.
Heads up folks, J. C. Cantwell got suspended, they're not sure why, but they wanted folks to spread the word.

Some real bullshit is happening on Bluesky rn.
There are still morons yelling at her as a racist cop tyrant who are arguing over the tattoo … people must be able to see through this by now.
I’ve started wondering if it’s a personal failing that none of my posts have been labeled rude. Some of them have been very intentionally rude!
If none of my posts are labeled as rude, is that a good thing or a failing?
I understand this sentiment but would still rate Kevin McCarthy as the weakest due to his difficulty in 1) getting elected and 2) passing anything.
Beyer: I don’t like to do ad hominem attacks, but I’ve served with four different speakers. This is the fifth one—by far the weakest speaker, I think, in American history.
Adolescent slang is perfectly penetrable. It’s frequently stupid but it’s easy to understand.
There are some politicians I will consider giving money to but it’s not anyone running for governor in Virginia or California because I don’t live in either of those places.

It did gives me insight into where they bought their lists from.
There’s a bunch of people trying to cast Obama as Marc Maron’s last guest as some sort of massive failure and that he’s letting show down and they are out of touch with reality.

#tronares was better than I was expecting and better than Legacy thanks to a more engaging lead character and central conflict even if there’s too much nostalgia bait.
With #VistaVision back in the conversation it makes me think of when I first learned of it; not from Hitchcock films but from ILM who for a long time owned the bulk of surviving VV cameras for filming miniatures and effect plates due to its large negative area.
My favorite part of this was the AI database being created by a man named Charlotin.
When I see people talking about wanting to throw out all current Dem leadership I see people not accurately calculating the odds of new leadership being worse.

It was the ‘throw them out and try something different’ impulse that got us both Trump administrations.
On Bluesky??? It’s built on smugness.
I don’t fully understand the appetite for smugness on social media
They’re acting like he’s the first person to ever go
Some fuckin rabbit holes in this place.
The problem that DC ran into with Harley Quinn very early is that a whole bunch of girls and women started adopting her as an icon because she was so funny and compelling to watch. Which tbh *shouldn't* have been a problem, no one cares when guys adopt villain characters as icons.
feels like "we like the new character design but don't want to feel bad about it" which is a fine decision for a personal fanfic but not so much for major franchise
It’s impossible not to see the comparisons between OBAA and Eddington. OBAA is actually harsher on the left than Eddington because it is also harsher on the right there is more acceptance of it.
Not the main takeaway but couldn’t help thinking while watching One Battle After Another how it prophecizes all the 20-something rebels of today inevitably becoming the boomers they hate in 15 years.
