Totally unethical.
“Many of the new lawyers installed in senior posts over recent months “don’t care what the right answer is”, bemoans the former senior jag. “They spend all their time trying to figure out what the administration wants and then reverse engineer how to get to it.”

This is a progressive Christian congregation, United Methodist in denomination although they call themselves "multi-denominational community". Contra some tweets I am seeing this isn't a sign church as a whole changing sides, rather a faction that was always there getting much louder. (This is good)
UPDATE: Another Chicago-area church has put up an immigration-themed Nativity scene.

A church member at Urban Village Church sent this one along, where Mary, Joseph and Jesus are gone and replaced with a sign that reads: “Due to ICE activity in our community, the Holy Family is in hiding.”

Reject any and every lie of this regime that they are fighting the drug trade. Their boss pardons a drug kingpin who helped bring 400 tons of cocaine into the U.S.

You had to throw all Harvard law grads under the Trump Bus, but it is alarming.
I’m pretty concerned about the number of graduates that emerge from Harvard Law with an open disdain for ethics and basic due process.
WELKER: Is there any hard evidence showing this particular boat was headed to the US?

TOM COTTON: That didn't come up in my briefing

WELKER: Are you comfortable having the US target a boat that you're not sure is heading to the US?

COTTON: I'm not just comfortable with it -- I want to continue it

New in PN: A war criminal without a war

"We’re watching the flimsy justifications fall apart in real time. They can try to shift the blame. They can try to say that people clinging to wreckage for dear life are somehow an active threat. But in the end, it’s just murder."

As Justice Kagan begins her dissent by pointing out, what is even the point of trial, of fact-finding, of clear error, of standards of review, when the Supreme Court simply ignores every single part of that and decides everything purely on the papers without any real consideration of the facts?

Koh: I think what we are seeing is what the founding fathers feared the most, which is the collapse of our checks and balances. The Supreme court is supposed to be a co-equal branch of government. It's basically a mouthpiece for Donald Trump at this point.

The destruction of our Supreme Court’s validity and rule of law is one of the saddest sights to behold for this retired circuit court judge.
Texas clearly did a racial gerrymander, which is illegal.

A district court found that Texas did a racial gerrymander, rejecting the new map because it is illegal.

But the Supreme Court reversed it.

Because? Must assume the gerrymanderers were acting in good faith (despite the evidence otherwise).

I’m just amazed that they guy who renamed his department to “War” would immediately do war crimes.

There is just absolutely nothing that could have indicated this was a possibility. Just shocking on all fronts.

Using his clemency power, Trump has undone prosecutions made by his own DOJ during his first term.

Experts say the actions show a broad contempt for the justice system: “He’s rejecting ... the work of people he appointed but didn’t fully control.”

The worst part about the boat strikes - regardless of who ordered what and besides the ultimate tragedy of lives lost - is they’re forever a stain on the professionalism and dignity of the United States military.

They’re an insult to every American who ever sacrificed to do the right thing.

If you’ve ever had need for an MRI you definitely know what part of your body is being scanned. This man is either lying, dealing with severe dementia, or stupid. You choose.
If your doctor decided you needed an MRI (indicating concern about something serious) and you claim that you didn't ask why or what part of your body he wanted to look at, you are:

1. Really stupid; or

2. Dangerously detached from reality; or

4. Lying; or

4. All three. 🎯
