I keep thinking “my god the people they’ve killed seem like exceptionally good folks” and I think the lesson there is that they’re not exceptional, but that wonderful people abound and that a baseline distrust in humanity is a shitty conservative trope that privileges power over collective strength

The modern world requires money, I followed my dreams of becoming a scientist and burned out on research and was deserately broke and incredibly stressed for the entirety of my 20s. While I am happy that I am who I am today - dont try to find fulfillment in work.
I am surounded by smarter people than me who followed their dreams and they are all broke and having substance problems
