Holy moly —my grandpa (b. 1897) and grandma (b. 1898) would have been right around the same age as Rick and Evelyn. Contemporaries!

Picture how big the Hoover Dam is. An absolute unit. The Hoover Dam has a power capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW).

The solar farm that the Admin just cancelled could have produces 6.2 GW of power. That's more than 3 Hoover Dams.

SCOOP: The Bureau of Land Management says the largest solar project in Nevada — the Esmeralda 7 mega-farm — has been canceled

The news was quietly dropped via a sudden website update with no public word from any of the companies involved or a statement from the agency

“It’s also a dangerous situation,” she said. “People don’t know that they are federal agents, and it’s an invitation to copycats who are bad actors kidnapping people because there’s no way to distinguish kidnappers from federal agents when they’re acting this way.”

We aren't on the verge of an authoritarian takeover. We are in the middle of it.

But I worry people don't see the whole scheme. They just pay attention to each new daily outrage. So I went to the Senate floor to explain Trump's plan.

Here's a 🧵of the speech. It's important.

People shouldn’t have to beg the government for protection from toxic chemicals. But Trump’s EPA is more focused on fast tracking chemical approvals to build AI data centers in our backyard than taking dangerous toxics off the market. We deserve an EPA that works for the people—not polluters.

Americans who love democracy need to face the fact that we’re no longer living in one.
We’re living in a transitional state in which a fascist dictatorship is fast descending.
But we still have a great resource: people power. It’s time for boycotts, protests, civil disobedience. Make yourself loud.

This is nothing more than a continuation of the president’s desperate weaponization of our justice system.

I am not fearful — I am fearless.

We will fight these baseless charges aggressively, and my office will continue to fiercely protect New Yorkers and their rights..

someone should tell Trump they don't give the Peace Prize to people who blow up boats and murder those on high seas nor to those who deploy military against their own people. NEVER.

If I'm motivated to support an idea, I can think of LOTS of ways to generate data to support the idea. But this is a problem. Generating data to find 'proof' of something doesn't lead us towards finding the truth; it just further entrenches us in believing that idea (even if it's wrong).

The movie, “Contact,” primed me for proper “primer” pronunciation.
merriam-webster.com
Here’s a primer on ‘primer.’

It’s pronounced ‘PRIMM-er’ if you mean “a small book” or “a short informative piece of writing.”

It’s pronounced ‘PRY-mer’ if you mean “an initial coat of paint.”

So, Tom Homan can straight accept a bag of $50K in cash from the FBI in a sting operation, have the investigation dismissed by this corrupt Justice Department, but all of Trump's critics somehow face indictments?

Cool, cool. Cool.

A desperate, weak Administration overplaying its hand.

Indicting political opponents & critics because they are political opponents & critics is terrifying.

It's completely inconsistent with the rule of law & democracy.

It should scare everyone - and (hopefully) will get people to realize that we all need to stand against this.

Over 40% of corn grown in Indiana is used to make ethanol that cars burn. One acre of corn yields about 16,500 vehicle-miles per year of ethanol, which sounds high until you realize that one acre of solar yields about 2,700,000 vehicle-miles per year: 16,000% more driving for a given plot of land.

By saying they're going to get undocumented migrants off Medicaid, they can justify using Medicaid rolls to look for Medicaid recipients who are US citizen children of undocumented migrants, then target the parents of those kids for deportation, hoping the parents will take the kids too.
