here's my opinion on "but gerontocracy":

bernie sanders has filed to run again in 2030. when he will be eighty-fucking-nine. it's might be just paperwork. but he has filed. to run. again. when he is 83 years old. today. and he will be 89 years old in 2030. when he has filed to run again.

Honestly at this point they're just using Schumer's name as a slur. I've seen maybe a handful of people express legitimate frustration with him in a way that doesn't just sound like the k-slur to my ears.

"the Schumerification of it all" fuck ALL the way off, turn around, dance a little jig, and then fuck off some more

so many of you don't even have any idea what the fuck you sound like

or, worse, you DO know

Well Maine has the highest median age in the union so maybe they do. idk man

Sara Gideon lost by 7 points in a Biden +11 state. Maine is not a progressive paradise, and Mills has won statewide before.

Am I supposed to be afraid of Susan Collins losing her senate seat to a generic democrat

A lot of people are mad about this post but personally I think history shows that if you give a Dem primary electorate the option of an elderly candidate with high name recognition they are very apt to take that option without regard to consequences a little bit down the road
chanda.blacksky.app
the idea that the only way we can have a primary is to run a 77 year old career politician against a newcomer is a sign of a tragically unimaginative politics

We need retirement from being an elected official to be a thing for politicians

I know making fun of Brianna Wu is like kicking a dead horse but she said on Twitter that Egypt "started the Suez Crisis" by blocking Israel and lol dog the Tripartite War is maybe the most clear-cut case of an act of aggression in postwar history. It was so clear-cut that Eisenhower flipped out.

There's a sinecure problem on the left, not enough billionaires that just want to put lefties in our\ face forever, and to the extent they do, its people like Tracey or Greenwald, which is terrifying

I would add that I've done taxes for twenty years and if you're a liberal and give to charity you're in the very very noticeable minority.

Republicans give to charity, and to rw agitprop
eliasisquith.blog
it has a lot to do with incentives.

to rightwing plutocrats, a D admin is an intolerable threat to their wealth & power, so writing blank checks for agitprop makes sense and is in fact honorable self-defense.

to their lib counterparts such a thing would be gauche, a social capital-negative

this has been a periodic complaint for decades and I'm curious what is standing in the way of fixing it

An elected official called for my execution. This threat is a clear attempt to shut down nonviolent resistance against this administration.

I will not be silenced, and our nonviolent people-powered movement will continue to grow.

the reason I despise Jeffries and Schumer the way I do is that they have a deep contempt for the very idea that politics may have changed beyond their extremely narrow understanding of campaigning and legislating.

like it's all well and good to demand our leaders lead and such but like, none of this is normal! nothing any elected Democrat has experienced to this point could have prepared them for this, in fact it's almost the reverse

Note that this is NOT intended to claim that MOfibA (or any other treatment than saline flush) is effective against RCAs. But Capsacin is soluble in lipids, which is legitimate in designing things not meant to touch human skin.
