I'm dragging this photo over from the other place and pinning it here since it makes me laugh. This is from my morning commute on the CTA Blue Line in February 2020. My first sign that things were going to get really weird, really quickly, and stay that way.

I was relating a story to my sister today about a student in my office who tried to convince me she didn't know how to check her email; when I called her out, she got up and walked out of my office. Just wild behavior at that age. Needless to say, her first semester didn't end well.

I work with the 19-24-aged crowd for a living, so I am used to a certain level of immaturity, and some of it I find charming, but once in a while someone turns up in my office who is 20 going on 14, and it always takes me by surprise.
