Anyone who thinks mutual aid can fully replace the state and infrastructure has clearly never dealt with chronic illness or disability.

I know people always laugh at Taiwan for legislators fighting in the House… but looking at the US now, I can’t help thinking that, if there was ever a time for an elected rep to punch a Trumpist Republican in the face for the sake of democracy…

Make no mistake. Erasing visibility of LGBTQIA+ child exploitation will result in less efficient tracking and more child exploitation.

there's an industry saying "money flows to the writer" and what it means is don't pay to sub, don't pay to have an agent read your stuff, don't pay anyone for any stage of the trad pub process unless youre hiring readers or editors to separately work on stuff with you BEFORE you submit
I don't like giving advice but I would have liked to hear this when I started submitting work.
Writers, you should never pay to submit to a magazine. Its insulting, devalues your work and reinforces the starving artist rhetoric.
You deserve to be paid for your art.

I am sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Esraa. Esraa is 9 months pregnant. She is currently living in Khan Younis with her son Muhammad, and also her brother Muhammad who has motor and intellectual disabilities. She is from North Gaza and wishes to return but cannot afford to.
