This is the experience of many disabled people btw. And it doesn't stop at looks, too. It's insults, threats, denial of the accomodations, etc.
I guarantee the hassle to get accomodations is enough to deter most fakers (are they even that many that it's worth talking about?)

I know someone not visibly disabled who refused to use the handicapped spaces she was qualified for because of people's looks. But not using them drastically reduced what she was able to do, because they were actually really helpful to her.
Her life materially improved when she started using them.

I feel like the Architect was a plotline that sadly got dropped when the focus of the series went away from Ferelden. Then again Awakening's in a weird spot where it's canon but its events aren't that impactful on the series.
