Trust me, it sucks for me, too. I'd love to be able to play some of the fun name games.

I'd love to use a pretty font. (General guidance for emojis is less than 5 bcs a screen reader reads each separately, last I knew.)

This isn't a choice on our ends. This is a problem related to disability.

I should be able to identify who I'm seeing on my feed and who is responding to me. (Obviously with your chosen identity, etc.)

I can't do that when people 'individualize'.

Please express your individuality elsewhere so people like me know who the heck you are?

Same goes with changing profile pics frequently. It's pretty hard for many autists to identify someone if they change their pfp frequently.

Gentle reminder that screwing around w/your usename makes it incredibly difficult to read, for both many dyslexic people (waves) & screen reader programs.

Did someone say cute post? Have a very very smol day octopus (O. cyanea) who was not at all sure about the large clumsy mammal nearby... :) 🐙🌿📷🦑

A tiny baby day octopus (about the size of a quarter), staying near an empty half bivalve shell (which was probably a recent meal) on a sand background. The octopus is in its neutral reddish-brown, which could change any second. :)

She seems to be? The swelling hasn't gone down, and I'm really hoping it does because I hate stressing her out with vet trips.

She's acting fine (cats hide stuff, though). I'm hoping it's just constant contact with the bottom teeth irritating it. No sign of infection. ❤️

I really hate to ask. My autistic kids' cat has lost a tooth & I'm seeing signs of infection. I can't afford to take her to the vet.

If anyone has a bit to spare, we really need the help. We had more income when we adopted & no income now due to disability.

Princess Zoë is the sweetest, most tolerant cat and my autistic kids love her so much.

Dying from infection is long, slow, and painful. I don’t even know if I could afford euthanasia.

Which I don't even remotely want to consider for something antibiotics would help heal.
