There's an island were depraved people have flocked to for years.... We could just repurpose it and cut off telecommunications for the world's worst inmates.
Sadly, they can say the "surge" is over and still conduct their horrific raids because a "surge" means an increased amount of boots on the ground. The boots are already there, and enough of them that they could send agents home and still have enough of them left to terrrorize people.
I am hopeful the surge is over but I I will believe it when kids are back at school, folks can go to work without getting abducted and people don't have to drive around with their passport and green card.

One of the things I've always made sure to point out is that when I talk about valid use cases for AI, is that it MUST be regulated. What we have now is mostly awful and unsustainable.

If I wasn't actively avoiding sharing photos of myself, I'd be using one of my cute mask selfies for my PFP, too!
It's a concious choice to wear a mask in my pfps. I wanna remind people that we are still in the pandemic and that a LOT of people can still get sick and die from Covid or the new flu strains.

I know I'm going to sound old saying it, but when I was in school, we had to ask permission in order to turn on our pocket tape recorders if they weren't required by the professor in class.
Recording should be allowed for accessibility, but to ambush kids.
