ICE has grabbed so many people from their vehicles that there are abandoned cars across Minnesota.

This tow truck driver returns the cars for free as a public service, and he’s been getting death threats.

They hate the helpers.

Which is why must keep helping.
Twin Cities tow truck driver returns abandoned vehicles to families after ICE arrests
Juan Leon sends a "chase" car to check out where abandoned vehicles are located and arranges discreet drop-offs. Since late December, he estimated they have dropped off 250 cars.

Thinking yet again about how as a kid I was told by the evangelical adults in my life that MLK Jr had cheated on his wife and thus was not a man worth listening to or studying. The smallest sexual immorality disqualifies a person from leadership and respect.

Guess who they all voted for thrice.

People all over Portland, Oregon were impacted by the chemical warfare deployed by the feds tonight. Here’s a thread of some Portlanders experiences who weren’t even at the protest:
Lots and lots of teargas and various other munitions. People yelling for medics. Ambulance came for one person already and there was a brutal arrest amidst all of this

Just experienced the most intense tear gassing of my life by federal officers outside the ICE facility in Portland where marchers gathered. There was no fast exit as they indiscriminately threw loads of gas and flash bangs. Children were in the crowd screaming. @oregoncapitalchronicle.com

My husband having terminal cancer has taught me so much about how to help people in crisis. There's really no wrong way or too small a way. In the past I was hesitant to "intrude" during hard times, but now I know better. It is humbling to ask for help, to receive help unasked for, to feel so loved.

NEW from me: Every morning for the past week or so, a group of ~24 clergy in Portland, Maine drive out to a business.

They form a line near a door, shielding a group of mostly immigrant workers as they exit their shift.

Then faith leaders stare down DHS agents. religionnews.com/2026/01/29/m...
Maine clergy form spiritual 'shield' outside workplaces to protect immigrants from ICE
(RNS) — Like religious leaders in cities such as Minneapolis, Chicago and elsewhere, local clergy were quick to muster resistance to the rapid influx of immigration enforcement agents, even as they wr...

People are definitely setting up a barricade of trash cans and this couch, in the middle of the street where ICE is.

"That's my couch," said a woman standing nearby. "It's been on my porch for four years because it won't fit up the stairs. My neighbor will be pleased it's gone now."

I'm on site where a federal agent shot a Minneapolis man this morning. It's bad.

Dozens of federal agents are facing off with hundreds of outraged residents. People being tear gassed, helicopters above, I keep hearing pops, and lots of loud BANGS.

This smoke is from tear gas:

Just from Feb-Aug, 2025, Trump terminated >3% of all NIH clinical trials in the US, cutting more than 74,000 Americans out of active trials, meaning that if they were receiving treatment for cancer then the treatment that may have been curative was simply stopped and is just not available elsewhere.
Clinical Trials Affected by Research Grant Terminations at the National Institutes of Health

Ben Luhmann, who filmed this, is one of the two high schoolers from a conservative Christian family I rode along with in Chicago when they were searching for ICE agents there.

When I asked him how his faith informed his efforts to document ICE/DHS, he told me this. religionnews.com/2025/11/25/h...

This week I not only got to pet the bookstore cat I've seen many times but never met before but also I saw (but did not pet) the other bookstore cat who has been evading me for years. She scurried, but she knows I saw her and she knows I want to be her friend.
