Thinking yet again about how as a kid I was told by the evangelical adults in my life that MLK Jr had cheated on his wife and thus was not a man worth listening to or studying. The smallest sexual immorality disqualifies a person from leadership and respect.

Just experienced the most intense tear gassing of my life by federal officers outside the ICE facility in Portland where marchers gathered. There was no fast exit as they indiscriminately threw loads of gas and flash bangs. Children were in the crowd screaming. @oregoncapitalchronicle.com

My husband having terminal cancer has taught me so much about how to help people in crisis. There's really no wrong way or too small a way. In the past I was hesitant to "intrude" during hard times, but now I know better. It is humbling to ask for help, to receive help unasked for, to feel so loved.
