Going into conspiracy mode:
Having a platform that bans GenAI content is a good way to get training data for AI and not have to exclude things that will pollute your dataset.

I have gotten drunk rambles from students with better sentence structure and grammar than some of these Epstein emails.

Not to mention that this current release is *not* the full file set that the House is voting on. Journalism, as a profession, just might not be in the right place to properly deal with this.
Cannot be stressed enough how unbelievably terribly all the news outlets, "progressive" or not, have been blowing the Epstein story.

Both parties have massive criminal exposure, top donors to both are at the very least are extremely close to child rape, and two presidents (at least) are involved.

Intersectional bigotry...
Always worth bringing back up that a big part of why evopsych became such a thing was that Jeffrey Epstein was bankrolling it through academic donations
Right, these are the two options: Either they tolerated Epstein's eugenics to get to the sex crimes or they tolerated his sex crimes to get to the eugenics

I love how these run all the way from "one off quips in the spur of the moment" to "organized and coordinated efforts". Ireland truly is a nation of poets.

Oh no! Republicans could hurt the Democrats so bad by just not running anyone in the 2026 mid term elections.
oh my god they actually did it lmao

57% of all ad spending by Republicans in the Virginia governors race was on anti trans ads. Just an incredibly mismanaged campaign. Anti-trans politics are a losing issue.

It is 100% of a dog whistle, is what it is.
Sincere question: What on earth is a 100% tariff on an individual moving? 100% of what?
They’ve all gone mad.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott: “After the polls close tomorrow night, I will impose a 100% tariff on anyone moving to Texas from NYC.”

Good example of LLMs only mimicking behavior seen in the training data. Humans usually say "a representative will contact you" in situations like this (because they know what data they have) and so the LLM does also.
Swear to Christ, I didn't willingly use the AI chatbot. There's no other way to get answers about a package delivery. Hell, I wouldn't have used this service if the seller had another option. But this fuckin' AI tried to tell me a representative would reach me, without ever getting my contact info.

Hey fellow NYers, this does not mean you can take it easy and not vote, your vote will still make a difference.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

A charity which, notably, he is legally forbidden from running because he's such a damn crook.
Trump: "It's awfully strange to make a decision where I'm paying myself. But I was damaged very greatly and any money I would get I would give to charity."

Democrats should absolutely be seizing upon the opportunity to unite with Zohran Mamdani, but Jeffries and Schumer have still decided to just stay out of it.

Meanwhile Republicans are uniting behind Cuomo... I don't know who that says more about.

Shout out to my new grandma friends in the neighborhood who have been out there every Thursday for months. A consistent reminder that my area isn't as hopelessly Republican as I sometimes fear.
The teeny tiny No Kings things in very red areas are so huge

Say like five or six people show up. None of them knew each other before. Suddenly they’re all friends. And maybe from that you get a group that does longer-term organizing that can punch *way* above its weight considering where it is

These Young Republicans conversations show, once again, that the people who made "The Man in the High Castle" made the absolutely correct decision when they destroyed all of the American Nazi props and costumes.

The President believing he can create new laws without congress and directly against a previous judicial ruling is just another example of facism having come to America.

But also let's take a moment to ridicule him because the "you" in "you will be immediately arrested" refers to ICE and police.
Trump calls for ICE and other cops to enforce his executive order banning flag burning, something that’s blatantly unconstitutional given Texas v Johnson (1989), which established flag burning as protected speech.

People don't appreciate how much of reliability engineering is "we have automated the process of turning it off and on again". Sometimes we only turn it a little off, sometimes we turn it a lot off.
As someone who worked in IT for 10+ years this is factual, a long-running computer builds up cursed energy in the vibe buffer and you have to restart the computer (properly) to clear it up.
I'm not really superstitious about anything, except the computer, which must be restarted if it has been on too long, to cleanse it of bad or negative energies
