you're deporting and killing people who are on the inside and who have lived most of their lives here.

Johnson doesn't realize it and wouldn't agree with it, but his love/hate line is an argument for amnesty.
Q: Pope Leo cited Matthew 25:35 to critique Donald Trump's mass deportation agenda. How would you respond to Pope Leo in scripture?

MIKE JOHNSON: Sovereign borders are biblical and right and just. It's not because we hate the people on the outside. It's because we love the people on the inside.

This Homan presser is completely incoherent. He started by announcing a drawdown of 700 agents (good!) but then pivoted to whining about "rhetoric" (bad) and suggested there will be more bloodshed if it doesn't stop (grim). Not clear to me that anything is actually changing on the ground here in MN.

Yeah, itโ€™s pretty hard to deny weโ€™re building concentration camps when weโ€™re planning to literally warehouse people. ๐Ÿคฌ
The idea of buying commercial warehouses and converting them into detention camps is so viscerally chilling to people that it's being opposed even in places which might otherwise support new prisons.
Remarkable: Trump's planned migrant prison camps are hitting deep resistance in red areas. In Virginia's partly rural Hanover (+26 Trump) opposition is intense. GOP leaders in other states are opposed.

Voters are rejecting mass deportations big time. 1/

Dehumanizing people is part of the playbook.
Aliyah Rahman: "I continue to hear the word 'bodies' because that is how agents refer to usโ€”'We're bringing in a body'โ€ฆ'We can't use that room, there's already a body in there.' You have no reason to believe you will make it out alive if you are already being called a body."

Itโ€™s important to realize that the subtext of Trump freaking out at Kaitlan Collins when she asks him what heโ€™d say to the Epstein survivors is that she may in practice be asking what heโ€™d say to the *Trump* survivors, and they both know that. A well worded question
This isnโ€™t some anonymous tip. This is sworn testimony, under penalty of perjury, from someone who said Trump threatened to kill her if she exposed Epsteinโ€™s sexual abuse.
