Not a speck of light is showing,

For the rowers keep on rowing,
And they’re certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing

The cuts came just before a separate wave of departures was expected under the Trump administration’s so-called deferred resignation program.

Years ago, after the Cambridge Analytica scandal, I interviewed a former fb employee, and I remember her continually emphasizing that these tech bros weren't evil geniuses, but were, in fact, dangerous because they were utterly clueless, totally reckless, and had too much power.

I've noted some of the procedural things Democrats could be doing in Congress, but this point from @edgeofsports.bsky.social's great piece in the Nation deserves emphasis.

This is basic politics, and it's baffling that every Democrat isn't doing it every day.

The showy new piece, called “The Stars and the Cottonwood,” was inspired by the humble cottonwood tree, a key part of Colorado’s prairie ecosystem (and the source of those little fuzz balls that float through the city in the spring).
There's a $3.6M crystal tree coming to DIA. Here’s how that happened

Seriously, creative folks: Don't be afraid to let people know your stuff is out there for them, or worry that "now is not the time for that." People are stressed and freaked out and looking for the things that will give them a moment of rest and joy. It is EXACTLY the time for what we do. Tell them.
