Over? Did you say 'over'? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

This guy gets it:
“More and more cabinet members — Rubio, Miller, Noem — live on military bases now, & it's another parallel to Iraq, where the administration lived in the Green Zone. There’s something deeply unhealthy about a society where leaders are literally shut off from the communities that they govern.”
Don Moynihan on "Purge, Merge, and Surge"
"Instead of surging in Iraq, it’s happening here in American cities."

The Republicans lied to us about Epstein.
They lied to us about tariffs.
They lied to us about Project 2025.
They lied to us about immigrants.
They lied to us about their Big Ugly bill.
They lied to us about EVERYTHING else.

MSNBC reported Schumer's office felt that the longer that shutdown went on, the more likely it was that people would start to blame the Dems.

My kingdom for Democrats that don't govern out of fear. I've said it before and I'll say it again: The American people are far braver than their reps.

On Tuesday, Americans sent Democrats a resounding message.

“Fight for us”

“Fight for working class Americans”

“Fight against Trump’s corruption, criminality and cruelty”

5 days later, Democrat Senators sent Americans a resounding message.

“Nah”

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

47 Democratic senators, 8 of which caved and 1 responsible for stopping that from happening.

38 senators left to do the right thing and strip Schumer and Durbin of their leadership positions.

Chuck and Dick may be retiring, but there's no sense in allowing them a dignified exit. Not anymore.
At some point Dems are the enabler parent who mollifies the abuser in the moment but does nothing to change the overall situation.

Reminds me of the white moderates MLK warned about so many years ago.

Just useless.

I don’t care if Schumer voted no. If he’s unable to wrangle the caucus, he’s not an effective leader. I’ll continue to push for the caucus to elect a new one.

It’s striking and inexplicable that Senate Dems crumbled following decisive signals from the American electorate that Trump’s policies are deeply unpopular and Americans expect the Democrats to fight Trump and Republicans over healthcare, affordability, & be a check on his chaos.

These 8 useless Democratic Senators are all wealthy and have feathered themselves a lovely retirement nest.

They don't need to be in these positions anymore.

They can amble away into the privileged nothingness that defines their spinelessness and lack of courage.

Demand more and better, folks.
