There’s a song about me by The National. You might have heard it, but maybe not.
I bet we could convince Trump the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade is a War of the World’s type invasion. Freak him out that huge dogs and men with spider powers and homely bald children are invading live on TV.

This is actually a mating ritual meant to communicate virility much like a male peacock’s plumage in southern church youth groups

I wonder if apps like ploymarket and sports betting are eating into crypto now? Crypto was as close to gambling many could legally access for awhile, but now they can scratch that itch faster. Day trading->crypto->betting apps as the legal gambling pipeline over last 20 years?

The thing I can't communicate to my boomer aged parents, and that a lot of people around the same age don't understand in general, is that they stole my hope (and sneered while doing it), and that's a thing you don't just "get back" or rediscover. Once it's gone it's gone.

In true absurdity, Puck was the beginning of reality TV's "I do what I want!" proud villain phase that accustomed people to mistake sociopathy for confidence and thus gave us Trump and Musk and Thiel and Vance and--
You can trace a straight line from Puck from The Real World: San Francisco to the current post-shame political zeitgeist. One universe over they cast Dave Eggers instead and that’s why they currently live in fusion energy driven, post-scarcity abundance

The distance between reality and reference kept getting shorter and shorter until they piled up on top of one another in heap of flab during Trump 1 and now reference fully precedes reality in Trump 2. Or at least the aesthetics of reference.

Younger people are probs unaware of how intense the Cola Wars got. There’s good reason why they made Billy Joel not be able to take it anymore.
"What meaning did this war have, and wasn't its unfolding a means of sealing the end of history in the decisive and culminating historic event of our era?"

I’ve been living out of a van and following Alan Dershowitz on tour for 5 years so this is a big day for the Dersh-o-wads fandom. Gonna let his charisma oozing summer grooves ooze straight into all my skull holes.

Republicans create disastrous policies that kill their constituents which only makes survivors vote more republican; deadly policies incentivize yet further deadly policies. The human animal is a truly self-destructive being.

This reminds me of the Panama Papers where people were asking “why aren’t there more Americans involved/punished?” And it was mostly because tax evasion stuff illegal in most countries is legal in the U.S.

Since we live in a culture that worships merch, I've always wondered why there are no specific lawn decorations for Thanksgiving. Very occasionally a blow up turkey. Nothing else. Until now when I present my new idea for making millions:
