Well they're known for following the rules set forth by the law so this will fix it
SCHUMER says Democrats are “united” behind three DHS reforms

1/ End roving patrols; tighten the rules on warrants and require ICE to coordinate with local authorities.

2/ Enforce accountability; a uniform code of conduct.

3/ Require masks off, body cameras on, agents carry ID.

Kagi getting a reputation for having "no AI" is absolutely incredible to me, the company that started as Kagi.AI and rewrites news articles (incorrectly!) with AI and has 5000 other AI tools and their own AI benchmark system somehow has people thinking they are AI free

Sick of the idea that pointing out full on grifters and predators trying to take advantage of activists is hurting the cause, these guys were never HELPING the cause, y'all were doing all the actual work in the first place, they just threw up half assed websites and got press releases in the paper

Sorry I will never stop yelling about the Blackout The System guy because knowing both of these things came out of the same guy's mouth makes me see red

The people who go "what's the harm in trying??" don't remember October Strike and how many people came away from that thinking all political action was pointless
is anyone else only now learning about a theoretical general strike being called for tomorrow with seemingly 2 days of planning, which leads you to worry that if it doesn't pop off it'll be used by the doompilled masses afterwards as evidence that nothing is worth trying

is this just me

Just to recap: there have been tons of people and orgs sharing this url:

NationalShutdown.us

They have a long list of endorsements, but they are literally just putting anything anyone submits on there without checking.

Many haven't endorsed them, some are fake. Very fake.

I just confirmed that I was able to submit a very, very obviously fake org and they added it. They didn't email me, they didn't ask a single question, and it's a manual process.
I think the problem here is that you can "endorse on behalf of an organization," so you can just put whatever, and half the people are putting big prestigious orgs/unions/etc on it and the other half are just shitposts like Sussy Baka Fundraising

What I'm going to say is that I demand answers on THIS

I have been trying since this website got put up to figure out who made it and gets your info when you give them your name/phone number and the answers I've gotten so far are "some student groups in MN" and "PSL National" which are WILDLY different answers

This shouldn't be a mystery!
general strike - great idea, all for it. now I do think we need more planning than making a squarespace site 4 days before a nationwide labor stoppage #nationalshutdown

Video from this morning shows ICE agents deploying tear gas outside a Minneapolis preschool as parents shout, “This is a preschool! There’s kids here!”

For example the video yesterday of "ICE IS GASSING A DAY CARE RIGHT NOW!!" is the daycare right up the street from my house. I about shit my pants and raced out the door until I saw it was actually from Saturday. I already dealt with that daycare gassing, thank you. Please don't lie to me for likes
Definite uptick in Bluesky content aggregators taking legit clips regarding Minnesota from a few days or weeks ago and posting them without any sort of timestamp context, which gives the impression of them happening today, which then gets clicks. Be vigilant with what and how you share.

Just referencing this again because even without using AI GOG was already being extremely weird about the art on their site
Hey GOG what the fuck is up with this Phantasmagoria banner/box art with a stock photo of a woman screaming instead of, y'know, the actress in the game

I feel its presence, the icy fingers upon my throat. I hear its eerie sounds, unsettling

GOG is currently using generative AI graphics on their site. that's really shitty!! sorry to Weakless who's getting advertised here but GOG started hiding replies in the thread so a quote post it is.
Weakless is now available DRM-free on GOG!

The "people use Bing?" comments in this really show how much people don't understand about how alternative search engines work

DDG uses Bing, Startpage uses Bing, Ecosia uses Bing, Qwant uses Bing, Kagi DID use Bing but the pricing got bad, many of these also use Google. People don't get this.
Bing has blocked neocities and all user subdomains from its search index.

We’ve spent months trying to resolve this through official channels and gotten nowhere.

Until this gets resolved, we are recommending that people do not use Bing.

Neocities Is Blocked by Bing
Over the past few months, the Bing search engine has completely blocked the domain neocities.org, including the front site and all user subdomains (example.n...

It turns out that counterfeiting human thought may have some adverse consequences.
OpenAI just released Prism, a LaTeX editor with embedded ChatGPT for free.
Writing a paper has never been easier.
Clogging the scientific publishing pipeline has never been easier.
It took me 54 seconds to write up an experiment I did not actually conduct.
