It is. We now have the Kremlin, the techbro oligarchy, and now Washington aiding and abetting the far right. This will likely end in war.

I would also much appreciate if journalists like you called out this kind of rhetoric for what it undeniably is: fascist bullshit.

49 instances of the word "Europe" in the new NSS. (35 in 2022 NSS and 29 in 2017 NSS.)
As far as I can see, this nat sec strategy is far harsher on Europe than on Russia. There is no mention of a threat from Russia or of deterrence, only that "re-establishing strategic stability" is a priority. Europe is cast as a major threat to freedom. A radical, dangerous document.

The moon is creeping up from behind avocado trees on hills to the east.

Well, I think we know where this is going. Stalin dead in the dacha, the help terrified to go in and bother him.
I honestly don’t know what’s more concerning. That the president of the United States keeps falling asleep in public or that everyone around him is too scared to wake him up.

#BREAKING: Over dissents from the three democratic appointees, #SCOTUS puts Texas's new House maps back into effect for (and, presumably, through) the 2026 midterms.

The three Democratic appointees, in an opinion by Justice Kagan, dissent.

I'll post the ruling shortly.

This is the story tonight. Every Dem who was in that room should be telling us what they saw.
Himes: "What I saw in that room was one of the most troubling things I've seen in my time in public service ... any American who sees the video that I saw will see the US military attacking shipwrecked sailors."

If it can be confirmed that the drone operation was directed by the Kremlin, this attack would constitute aggression against a NATO ally of the United States by Russia.
Quite breathtaking story - military grade drones at Dublin airport which flew on the path Zelensky's plane took. The drones reached the flight path of his plane exactly the time it should have been there, but just missed it because Zelensky arrived ahead of schedule:
Four unidentified military-style drones breached no-fly zone to target Zelenskyy's arrival in Dublin
Gardaí are investigating whether the drones took off from land in Dublin or from an undetected ship.

Capturing the cultural zeitgeist and trends for the year ahead is a tricky business. But every year, the Pantone Color Institute chooses a color to do precisely that. And it has settled on a shade of white, “Cloud Dancer,” as its Color of the Year for 2026. https://cnn.it/3MipgCr

american reporters, you've got to call bullshit on this. vance, purveyor of hate/propaganda, wants the public to believe rules on, for instance, transparency in advertising and forms of deception on X are censorship.

don't fall for it.

Law school final, the professor says we can use AI in limited parts of essay but with extensive documentation of what AI did etc etc. Most of us are not using that great opportunity cuz AI is worse than a useless scam. It’s an error-riddled scam. Not today, Satan, not today.

He’s in really bad shape. Can’t stand, can’t walk without dragging a foot, has obviously had a stroke, and as his dementia gets worse he will continue to blurt out ever more racist sentences. He’s having regular treatments but he’s definitely physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually unwell.

Telling someone they have to pay $1,000/month in premiums for the next 12 months but they’ll get $10,000 of it back when they file their taxes 15 months from now doesn’t do them any good if they only earn $30,000/yr to begin with.

In addition, the whole reason why the ACA is set up as ADVANCE tax credits is because if you could afford to wait over a year to get the financial help you probably wouldn’t need the assistance in the first place.
Even if an above-the-line deduction where you don’t have to itemize, it would provide the biggest benefit to those with the highest incomes/in highest tax brackets while providing no or modest benefits to those with lower incomes (who now most benefit from the enhanced Marketplace credits). 1/2
Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., is proposing a new tax deduction for healthcare costs as lawmakers face an end-of-year deadline to address an expiring Affordable Care Act tax credit.
