I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

There's a step forward. The BBC's Peter Bowes tells us that Trump's complainit about Ukraine showing "zero gratitude" for his constant hard work on - or occasional remembering to think about - is "simply not true".

Former Reform leader in Wales is sentenced to 10.5 years in prison for taking Russian bribes. A great chance for a news show to use this to cover the wider problem of Putin's influence on Reform-But #r4today hasn't time because they have to cover the 30th anniversary of 'Toy Story' instead.

Lockdown wasn't just about reducing mortality from the virus. It was also about preventing a huge wave of simultaneous infections overwhelming the NHS and resulting in other conditions going untreated.

Feeling physically sick to hear on the news Shabana Mahmood saying that “illegal migration is tearing the country apart” which she must know is not true. What’s “tearing the country apart” is the cynical entrepreneurs of fear and hate who have gleefully pushed this non-issue.

You are defining refugees as OTHER for the rest of their lives Ms Mahmood. That is nothing other than a far right policy.

Massive attack on BBC from forces that want it shut down. BBC makes mistakes but on whole is honourable. I think of outstanding reporters like Lyse Ducette, Steve Rosenberg, Jeremy Bowen, Orla Gurling and many others. It's OUR BBC and we can criticise but current USA administrators need to butt out.

I'd call the BBC a pro-Trump organisation.

The slightest thing he says tends to be in the headlines, they've hardly ever looked at his criminal charges and anti-constitutional operations, and they've never considered his mental capacity.

Part of this is accepting that some people have conditions that can only deteriorate, and that they mustn’t be forced into work to prove that. We mostly know what these conditions are. If they want people with MECFS and long Covid to work, fund the research.

#ZohranMamdani is NOT a “radical”, he campaigned on affordable housing, transport, childcare and easing the cost of living. Hardly radical - those are centrist policies in Europe. The BBC is lazily repeating MAGA attack lines instead of actually examining what he’s pledged to do. #r4today #NYC
