So I’ve been following an undercover ice vehicle from Franklin Ave South towards the Greenway for the last five minutes or so roughly 12:30 PM central time this is a picture of the vehicle and the inhabitants of the car who opened the window when they saw I was taking photos of them.

not sure if it’s a city matter or makes more sense as private (probably both), but Surly needs a bunch more for events. Was there for Legacy Cup, and asked security where bike parking was, they said there is none and to use a tree…

Walked a couple blocks to find a pole.

As others mentioned, music/event venues could use more

First Avenue and Target Center, which could compliment each other too

Armory definitely needs more

Uptown theater could as well

Biggest thing being that these be near the entrance or other high visibility areas, not around a desolate corner

Tonight a resident posted a picture of racist and Islamaphobic language written on Johnson street that called for @omarfatehmn.com to be deported and wished death upon the Somali community. @doronclark.bsky.social and I showed up right away to get this racist garbage off of our streets

Minneapolis City Council member Jamal Osman has accused Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of trying to interfere in Somali community politics in Minnesota by dragging Mayor Jacob Frey

into his tribal agenda.

According to Osman, President Hassan promised Frey a private jet worth hundreds of thousands of dollars for his planned trip to #Mogadishu, arranged after a stop in #Nairobi. The plan, Osman says, was nothing more than an attempt to export Hassan’s Hawiye tribal politics into #Minnesota, where the majority of Somali-Americans are Darod.

The accusations cut deep. Jamal Osman, who is from #Puntland, said Hassan deliberately excluded him, the only Somali on the Minneapolis Council, from discussions about the trip. When Osman pushed back, Hassan allegedly advised Frey to add #Garowe to the itinerary to appease him, a move Osman called insulting and manipulative.

“This is like catching your mayor planning a trip to London without involving the only councilman from the UK,” Osman blasted. “And when you confront him, he turns around and says, ‘Don’t worry, we’ll swing by Scotland to make you feel better.’ It’s ugly, divisive politics.”

i’ve seen it get very busy outside closer to bar close, but these patrol cars are always blocking the way, which seems counterproductive as it makes everything so much more congested there

got told to eff off by a ~16 year old on a scooter and separately had my Rage Against the Machine shirt made fun of by a couple ~20 year olds, hours after a different set of ~20 year olds also made fun of it 😞 never have i been so concerned about The Kids These Days
