friend's daughter with serious MH issues and ASD got a job on Waitrose check out. She enjoyed when not too busy but was really struggling at peak. She got up courage to ask her manager to put her on something else at busy times. He said no. Really rude.. reasonable adjustment??!! Confidence ruined.

It is certainly an arguable point for the law. Though the legal principles ought to be identical, I am certain the Shadow Justice Secretary would surely not attend court to show solidarity for somebody who burned a Bible, the Talmud, a novel, a Remembrance poppy, Union Jack - but will for the Quran

many benefits are household claims. imagine you're british and your spouse has ILR, and you're told that you're being denied benefits because your spouse is from "other parts of the world and they can leave". imagine if you lose your job and your spouse can't claim jobseekers, so you end up homeless

The Tory Party has gone mad..

He insisted the Conservatives had a plan to cut spending, including £8bn of annual savings from reducing the civil service, £6.9bn from cutting the aid budget and £23bn from slashing the welfare bill.

Stride told the BBC that to save money, only UK citizens would have access to the welfare system and that people with "low-level" mental health problems would also lose access to benefits.

Asked what would happen to people living legally in Britain who are not UK citizens if they fall into hardship, he said: "They've come from other parts of the world and they would have the option to return."

The Conservatives failed to back the Labour government's proposed £5bn of welfare savings this year. Stride claimed that the Labour plans were rushed and "not considered and principled".

The main reason Farage is in a position to win a majority with 30% of the vote is the implosion of the Conservative Party. The easiest route to preventing that outcome is the recovery of the Conservative Party. Everyone on the left, and all the groups the left cares about, have a stake in that.

Yes. And frankly we feel surrounded by extremists on all sides for whom our personal discomfort is of no importance whatsoever. Which to be sure isn't the same as being bombed in Ukraine or Gaza, or deported from the US. But should matter in some way.
