"...painted by two of the foremost American artists of the twentieth century, Ben Shahn and Philip Guston.....They are on the walls of the Wilbur J. Cohen Building in Washington, DC, one of forty-five federal properties currently earmarked for sale."

Trump admin selling off historic public art to the highest bidder
Painted figures haunt an empty building. A boy leaning on a pair of crutches. A father and son wandering a barren railroad track. A nuclear family at a picnic table. These poignant scenes were painted...

President Biden - never stopped being presidential even after going through cancer treatment, showing great leadership and stamina.
The felon couldn't be bothered being presidential, is destroying our country and pardons criminals like himself.

When a politician says: we’ll deregulate health insurance and send you a “freedom account” check, ask: freedom to buy what? If insurers don’t offer real policies or can cherry-pick only healthy people, that money is a coupon for a store that’s not open.

PIECRUST! A MANIFESTO!
I once wrote someone trying to impress a new love some piecrust instructions and thought I'd share them here:
The secret of good pie is: keep your heart warm but your butter cold.

I write to my senators +reps and the replies are so cookie-cutter and neutralized fake-speak that it hardly seems worth it. But today I got a response from @bennet.senate.gov that felt more personal and sincere. (Took so long that I can't remember what I wrote to him about, though.)

No longer have a subscription so I can't gift-article this, but this is a really shameful statistic. Other countries create walkable cities and we make being a pedestrian a life risk.
Yearly deaths caused by cars and trucks striking pedestrians rose 70 percent between 2010 and 2023, an examination of federal data and other public records by The Post shows.
The deadliest roads in America
The number of pedestrians killed by vehicles has increased in the U.S., with road infrastructure and inadequate safety measures among key contributing factors.
